Yeah, I understand what you mean. But there does come a time in these games when you get stuck, and have been stuck for awhile. That's when a game hint or tip really comes in handy. Like in vv1, I worked for 5 generations first time I played it, trying to get my people to move that stupid boulder! And how much water did my people put on that field of dead flowers, before I got the hint to free the rubble, first.
Some of the stuff in these games relies on other actions that most would find simply by chance. Sometimes you lose a whole village, trying to find answers to some of the puzzles. A hint or tip, or both, sometimes saves a LOT of frustration.

I've always had the idea that the VV games were to relax and take your time with. There isn't alot of noise, only the potions explode, and the puzzles require some degree of intelligence. These aren't about extra credit, extra lives, or the bonus round. No one does cruelty, killing, or runs amok. Mayhem never raises its ugly head, and arguing is limited to waving arms and, in the main, talking to no one.
These teach decision-making, and the consequences thereof. If you assume a wrong end to a puzzle, as I did with the lift, there is always someone there to help.
I'm a Hippie still...laid back, admiring the creativity of those playing the games, and the different ways we reach similar goals.
Welcome to the forums, melanoma, and might I say you have a most unusual name?

Like in vv1, I worked for 5 generations first time I played it, trying to get my people to move that stupid boulder! That brings back memories Sadly, I looked at the guides alot while playing VV and VV2, but I've done VV3 all by myself, that is to say, I still got one puzzle to go, but I've as good as finished the game. But yes, these games are too short otherwise, though I'm a big fan of open ended games, so I keep on playing regardless
