I am very very close. I just need parenting but I don't have enough housing yet so it won't let me breed him anymore. I have everyone working on the hut because my guy is elderly.

i did the same as masmaba... it only took like five minutes for him to become a master parent if that much. I also had another one that was master in everything except for farming and she became adept to the point where her next step would make her become farming but she was just so old and walked too slow and died b4 she got there...

I haven't had one even close yet. But I'm hoping I will in the tribe I'm playing now. I had one child that was already pretty high up in the Doctor area when she turned 14. By the time she was 15, she was a Master Doctor and my first Child Prodigy. Then I had her start on building a hut. I made her work on it by herself until she became adept and by that time, two of my three trees were ready for harvesting so I made her harvest both by herself. Then, my third tree was ready and I made her harvest that one by herself also. Now I have her fishing all by herself, trying to get her up to Master Farmer. She is currently 17. I was hoping to have her become an Esteemed Elder by 18, but that's not going to happen, lol! Anyway, once she hits Master Farmer, I'm going to have her go back to building. As soon as she hits the Master Builder, then I plan on starting her in on having kids. Leaving Research for last. I hope it works! This was a "new" tribe and she was the second youngest when the tribe started. Unusual tribe too, for me anyway, as the first and only Chief so far was the two year old when I started the tribe, lol! I guess this tribe just has smart kids. Oh, and the women in my other tribe became Master Parents sometime during their fourth child. I have one now though on her third infant and she's still only a Trainee Parent. But her Dislike is Children, hahaha! That may be why she hasn't moved up very far.

its not entirely hard to make a male master parent. What i do is i constantly make him embrace an elderly woman or one over fifty so she desnt get pregnant but he still gains experience. also i dont let them go indoors.

I'm sorry Princess. My Jack of All Trades was a runner which I found gained skills very fast especially with farming and building. Perhaps try and make a runner your Jack of All Trades?

I know that more than likely nobody will care, but I wanted to post an update on my Child Prodigy that I'm trying to turn into my very first Jack of All Trades. It seemed like it took forever to get her Master Farmer status, but she did achieve it sometime after she turned 18. Then I had her working on become a Master Builder. In my last post, I explained how I got her up to Adept Builder while waiting on my trees to be ready for harvesting. So, once she finally hit Master Farmer, she was already an Adept Builder. Still is seemed like it was taking a really long time, even with the help of a potion. I used the potion 3 separate times and all three times it said it increased the skill. Of course, it wouldn't say Master Builder when she became one, because she was already a Master Doctor and Farmer. Anyway, right after she turned 22, it said she had increased in her building and I finally saw the Esteemed Elder title. At 22, lol! So, then I pulled her up to the waterfall area and clicked on Parent. She went after one of my only two adult males, but that didn't work out. She didn't want to go after the other one, she wanted to go and Study Medicine, hahaha! I had other plans though and now she has a baby by the other guy -- the one she didn't want. (I know, I'm mean, lol!) Oh, and I had her read to a few kids before I had her get together with the guy, so she's quite a ways up there already and only 22 years old. Maybe this will will actually work.

Simsane, that's why we're all here. We get into this stuff and the people around us don't get it, and we just gotta tell someone! I think you're well on your way with your JOAF, Way to Go! Marcey

Thanks everyone, I'll keep you posted. I have another tribe who had a runner, but it was when I first started playing and I didn't know what I was doing. Didn't even notice the Awards page for a while, lol! That runner, sadly, is now gone. He has one of the original tombstones. I haven't had a runner since. Now in this second tribe, the one where I've been working on creating a JOAT or JOAF (?) I haven't let the game run unless I'm playing it. I pause it when I'm not actually playing. So every bit of progress has been painstakingly eked out. But I really have hope with her (I named her Becca -- the game named her Buca) so I'm pausing it so that I can control what happens.

Thanks ya'll. I had been having problems figuring out how to get a Jack of All Trades. I really hated to just click parenting on the detail screen, if it's a male---they keep all the breedable age women PG all the time, so they accomplish nothing else--and, of course, a female just stays pregnant all the time---no time to complete the other four tasks. The key here is post menopausal women!!!!! I got it!!! Gonna go try now!!!

Got my Jack of All Trades when she was 40. Master Parent is easy, if you do it during a time when you're at your population limit. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.

Yay! My child prodigy is now 37, lol! And I looked to make sure I still didn't have a Jack of All Trades (which I didn't) but all her bars were way up except for the Parent bar, which was ALMOST as high. I clicked on parent and had her read to two kids. Still didn't quite do the trick. So, I let her go embrace (yech! Picked the wrong guy -- but luckily it didn't 'take') then I dropped her on the guy that had fathered her other kids. It 'took' and then I looked again and I now have my first Jack of All Trades. Yay!

Hi Everyone! I just to throw something out there that I haven't seen mentioned in increasing parenting skills; it's a good way to do that and 'teach' children. If you drop an adult on a child, they will change to "telling stories" and both will go to the ampitheater.. that's a way to increase parenting even when there aren't women available to get pregnant. It works for the men, too! Hope that helps a bit!

A sad update. My JOAT has passed. When I first started playing, she was one of the original members. There were two younger than her and now, there is only one member left alive out of the original tribe and she is 71. So sad. I know it's dumb, but I felt so sad when I opened my game this morning and found her gone. Then a little bit later, the Chief had passed as well. The chief had been two years younger than my JOAT and did get me the Award for having a chief for at least 50 years.
I can't believe how attached I was to them and how I miss them. :-(

My Jack of All trades was my favorite villager. She died a few weeks ago. You have to watch them constantley as soon as they turn 14. Once they master, keep on moving them to the different work places. I got mine when she was in her 30's or 40's.
