I wanted to share something I found out. Probably everybody else already knows this, but I just discovered it, so I thought I would post just in case I was not the only one who didn't know it. \:\)

SPOILER BELOW!!

Once the lift is built and you get to use it, you know how a piece of fruit drops on the ground? Well, one of my tribes already had two banana trees and it dropped a third banana. I wanted something different and I only had a really small tribe, so I decided not to have my farmer plant that third banana. The next time it rained, that banana disappeared. I had my farmer stand on the lift again and this time, instead of another banana I got something else. \:\)

So, with my second tribe I did that with the second tree (the first, again, was a banana tree -- and the first piece of fruit that dropped after the lift was fixed was also a banana) I waited until it rained again and I got something different from a banana. Then, when it rained again, unfortunately the game gave me the same kind of fruit as the second tree. So I left it laying on the ground and waited until the next rain.

It worked and I got a third type of fruit!

So my "discovery" was that if you don't want that kind of fruit, you can leave it laying on the ground and the next time it rains, you get another chance of getting a different kind of fruit.

I was afraid to try it at first, cause I worried that I just wouldn't get any more fruit at all, lol! But since my tribe was still pretty small and I had 3 kids that I was using to hunt for mushrooms as well, I decided to go ahead and risk it. I was pleased when it worked out. \:\)

Edited to add -- you didn't get ANY banana trees? That seemed to be all the game wanted to give to me at first!

The first time I played the game I only got banana plants, so I assumed they were the only type of fruit available. I was really surprised (and pleased!) when I got one of each sort of tree in the second game I started.

I've read on this forum that there are three kinds, but have only seen two. Except when that third piece of fruit fell. I know if was different from the two I've seen. I don't remember what the other two are supposed to be though, lol!

I'm glad to know that maybe someone will benefit from this post. \:\) Issy, thank you for telling me what the other two fruits are. I remembered that I had seen it somewhere on this site, but couldn't remember where. In real life, I always get those two fruits mixed up -- but I have never lived where those fruits grow naturally and only see them in the stores during certain times of the year, so I guess I've just never learned the difference. \:\)

With the food prices being so high now, I only buy the local stuff as it's cheaper usually. That means LOTS of apples, lol! (I live in Washington State -- we're known for our Red Delicious apples.)

You can get same types of plants for orchard? I didn't know that.

So you can get 3 Mango trees?

Yep, my problem wasn't getting the same kind of trees though, mine was trying to get different trees. But yes, I'm sure it would work the same way -- if you got a different seed, leave it and try again the next time it rains. But be cautioned that in my game, banana seems to be the most likely. \:\)
