Is the Chief supposed to do more than Think and Inspect Food?

The one made chief was my builder. Had to start over.

Do I need to do something to make it happen? I have tried moving him around to all parts and he keeps saying "Thinking".

Try dropping him on a task.

The chief will do more as you buy leadership too.

The chief can make magic food once every 24 hours if you drop him/her on the food bin. He can "direct work" of the scientists or builders when you drop him in the area where they are working.
