so, i mentioned a few days ago that i finally got the statue done but there were no master builders since it took so long to build all my master builders died. anyway, i have changed the game to easy from normal (i don't think that changed anything), changed the time to slow from fast, and i am pausing it everytime i turn off the game. i have one adept builder but he is 56 and not advancing in skill AT ALL!!! i need a master builder for puzzle 15! i keep putting him on the hut, that is all that i can do in the game now, and it is getting boring. it said at least 10 times that he has improved in construction but his bar is not moving! it is still a little more than 1/2! i don't know what to do! it will hours and hours of just putting him on the hut to get him to master, if it is even possible! do they stop gaining skill at a certain age? i am getting so frustrated. it really sucks because i don't want to be frustrated with this game! i really like these games!
please help! am i wasting my time? should i start with a new builder??

No, age shouldn't matter in terms of gaining skill. Even though your builder's bar doesn't move, he is still gaining building skill each time you see the message "improved in construction". If you want to stick with this tribe, then it sounds like you will have to keep putting him on the huts to fix them to become a master and a lot more often than 10 times.

I think once you select easy, normal, or hard from the options, you are stuck and cannot change it mid-game but I could be wrong.

I am also having major problems training a master builder after all the others have died and theres no more building projects. I have worked on this all of yesterday and today and my last adept bulder is 65. All the solutions thus far have not helped, (fixing huts and potions.) I hate to start a new game because I have almost finished the collections. Has anyone found a solution?

This thread is about master builders. It may have helpful tips if you give it a look.

Good Luck! \:\)

Not positive, but I'm pretty sure if you do a potion that makes them excercise, they will gain building skill.

Sorry, to hear you're having so much trouble!

You don't need only MASTER builders to work on the statue, trainees or Adept builders will do.
I don't really have a solution for you, but you will surely gain more by adding one more tribe to your game.

By trail and error, I learned NOT to finish the last HUT TOO SOON.
Have enough young people to train as builders, 20 may be an overkill but it worked for me. 1/2 I trained by having them build the last HUT. The other 1/2 was trained for other jobs. Once they have enough building-skills, they will -- on their own -- go and work on the statue -- provided you started working on it!
Train the remaining 10 builders. Once they're all trained you'll have 20 builders switching back and forth between the HUT and the statue. I believe, 8-10 builders can work on the statue at any one time.

I think it took between 8-12 hours, normal setting double speed.

Having multiple games running helps correct mistakes made in previous game(s).

Best of luck ;\)

Wow, I hope everyone works out! I think the problem with the huts is after you have someone work on one it will say something like "This hut is still in good repair" so he wont fix it or gain any skill.

If you are doing the statue and need builders fast, make the potion that makes runners for a while and set several peeps on a hut and keep them drinking the potion. They get skills faster while running around those huts. I think the potion is orchid, rose, and cactus.

Oh, i tested the potion that you said and it didn't work \:\( it came out as: "Oh, it burns"
The correct potion that makes villagers run is cactus, lotus, orchid \:\)

thank you for the help.

my statue is done. my huts are all done. my builders all died because it took more than 3 days to finish the statue. i have put my builder on the huts MANY times (lots more than 10) and it is getting very frustrating. i have to pause the game every time i go away from the computer. every time i am at the game ALL i can do it put my builder on the hut again and again. i will try the potion to make him run and cross my fingers. i do not believe that i made a mistake with my tribe. it was not in my control, there was a (well-documented) problem with the building of the statue.

THanks for the correction, Becca. I couldn't remember the correct potion. Anyway, I got five new trainee builders from it quicker than normal..lol.

Lady said if he already have some skills, some improved skill don't count.

That's not what I said. All skill improvement "counts." However, since the skill bar increases in segments, you may not see the improvement until they've gained skill several times (depending upon how skilled they already are.

it takes at least 10-15 improvements to move the bar. it is very frustrating because it takes so long for him to finish "fixing the hut" to get one improvement. even with the running potion it still takes him just as long to fix the hut...

OK Here's one I Haven't seen....what is this compulsion to do laundry or worry about food? My villagers can't get anything done because they'd rather worry about food than harvest honey. Or I leave them alone for the night only to find out they were doing laundry. Am I a hard task master? Do they not like me? Have I been too harsh? I haven't grounded any one!!!! Boo Hoo!!Can't complain cause no one listens to me. Boo Hoo!!!

Poor nightengale! I don't think you are so much harsh!
You know, at the beginning, the villagers are not very clever and you must insist a lot to teach them. Later, it will go better. Just be patient with them! \:\)

How about having the chief lecturing the children. On a daily basis they continue to acquire skills.

Ohoh! You can't pause your game while they are doing the statue? No wonder so many Adept and Master Builders pass away!

I am not sure where you got this information, but it is not correct. You CAN pause your game while they are doing this. Your villagers will NOT age or die while your games is on pause. But, they will not work either.

berry, orchid, lotus, makes them smarter, maybe thats what your builder needs
orchid, cactus, lily, makes them exercise, which builds builders
also is your clothing hut built? if not you can get that and that would train builders, just a thought........

ok, so now i am on day i-don't-know-what of putting my one adept builder on the huts to fix them and pausing the game everytime i am not playing. i get so tired of doing this again and again that all i can handle is about 20 minutes at a time. i don't have fun with this any more. i hope that he becomes master soon...everything is built, everything is done but the last two puzzles...so sad...:(

I'm so glad you got your Master Builder. I know it was frustrating but I am glad to read that you stuck with the game!

i am a very stubborn person! haha! he just HAD to be a master builder, no ifs ands or buts about it! haha!

i really do love this game, but i really wish that i didn't have to deal with the _bug_ about the statue. i guess that is what happens when you buy the game the day it is released!
