I have dropped my chief on every inch of that stupid statue. He has stood on its face, beside its face, and beside every inch of its body but he won't "direct the work". He will "think". "inspect the food", and be "proud of the tribe" but he won't "direct the work". I tried for 3 hours this afternoon to find the right spot but he refuses to cooperate. The plans are drawn and the master builder has found the right spot to anchor the scaffolding but not one bit of work has been done because my chief won't cooperate. If anyone has any suggestions, I'm truly open to help.

I don't think you have to put him directly on the statue. I think I put mine on the ramp or maybe at the base of the ramp. I can't remember exactly where. Just drop him in that area and see if it helps.

Make sure you had the third rank of Leadership bought with your tech points. I was able to draw up the plans and have my master builder set up the scaffolding, but my chief would not direct until I had saved up enough tech points to purchase rank 3 of leadership. Once that happened, I didn't have any trouble with him not directing unless someone got sick.

Even if someone got sick I noticed that the builders continued pushing while the chief was away 'being concerned'. When the sick villager was healed the chief went back to directing on her own. Of course, if you interrupt the chief ...

I downloaded the newest version before I started trying to place the chief. I have level 3 leadership. My builders won't start the scaffolding (where do I put them to do that and do they do that without the chief) even though one of them has already spotted the "good place to anchor the statue". I'm really confused. Of course at my age, that's not hard to accomplish...

Do you have the plans drawn for the statue?

Just to let everyone know...I have a finished statue. This morning I decided I was going to give it one more try before throwing in the towel. I put a builder on the path and lo and behold he built the scaffolding. I put the chief by the statue and he started directing the work and all my builders came and started pushing the statue. It's finished...finally. Not only that but I have finished puzzle 15 and 16 without a hitch. I now have little ghosties floating in my sundial room and have heard their story. I feel fulfilled. Thanks to everyone for your help.

It took my nature tribe on my pc forever before I down loaded the patch yet on my magic tribe it took less than 12 hours started it about 9 pm and when I got up the next morning about 7am it was complete without the fix. Now the Nature tribe even with the fix it took them 24 hours plus to finsh after the fix was down loaded. I have unlock all the secrets of the island and still can't get my chief to stay with my builders (nature side)to finsh the 3rd hut or clothes hut. Is there something that I need to do? I've not gotten into my game on laptop wanted to finsh game on pc. Has another fix come out I have not seen in forums?
