I've solved all the puzzles and so far there doesn't seem to be any point in continuing to train villagers as builders. I was hoping that since we have rain and storms now, that occasionally something would be damaged and would require repair, but that doesn't seem the case. \:\( I just wanted to make sure I haven't overlooked anything. Is there a point or is it just like the last game where builders become superfluous after puzzles?

If you don't have all of your awards, you can continue to increase builder experience by having them repair the various buildings. I believe there is a jack of all trades that requires you to have a villager with master in all five areas.

I have the Jack of All Trades already, and I don't think any of the other awards need you to have a builder. I know you can have them raise the building skill by doing "repairs" but these don't seem to be necessary repairs. The houses aren't going to break down and become unlivable if I don't have builders working on them. That's the sort of thing I mean.

Understood, then I would hazard to say that, no, you don't need to worry with it any more. In your shoes, I don't think I would.

Congrats on finishing all the puzzles!!

I like to get as many villagers to esteemed elder as I can, so I do have builders even though all of my structures are built and the puzzles are finished. BUT it is very frustrating because they will not do any building task unless you are constantly overseeing the game and putting them on a hut to fix it, They go get a drink, take baths, look at fish, wash laundry ... everything but fix huts on their own. Having more than 3 or 4 working on building at a time is impossible, you have to constantly track down the ones who've wandered off and get them back on task.

Well, there's no real motivation that I can see for Esteemed Elders as they don't keep tally or give you totem poles like in the last game. If you enjoy making Esteemed Elders regardless, I would think that Farming, Research then Healing would be the easiest route to go. Thanks to the new set up, I've found it really easy to get a Master Doctor. Master Parents with speed kissing is another way, but I find that method mind numbingly tedious myself.

I have no real use for builders in VV1 or VV2 either once all the puzzles are all done. As others have mentioned they can be trained to become Elders or possibly Jack of all Trades, but I (in the couple of games I've played so far) tend to give the villagers a rest once all the puzzles have been solved and all levels of tech have been achieved. I reckon that the builders carried out a Herculean task in carrying out the restoration of the statue, and deserve to take time out. I'll therefore train a few villagers in Medicine and the others in Farming, with, of course, a few females in Parenting to carry on the tribe. Existing builders/scientists I'll give a little retraining in their new career, but I won't bother them overmuch.
