When my chief gives lectures - does it further the game in any way or are the lessons that my tribe do pointless!! Worth it or not?

I was thinking the same thing myself. I wondered if it made them more likely to stay on the task they have been given! or would learn faster?

There are two kinds of lecturing that the chief does. One is very beneficial to the children, but can be done only once every 24 hours.

The lectures are cool and teach the kids, they get some knowledge in different subjects. One lecture I watched was very funny. First the cheif showed a fish then a crab, then a stew pot like from VV2 it was like cooking 101. lol

My favorite lecture by the Chief is the one they just got...she showed them a baby! Finally, a lecture on childcare! \:D

One of the lectures my chief gave included a demonstration using a dead body...seriously, he turned around and had a handful of bones.

Ok, I understand lectures are good for the children, but does it benefit the adults at all?

If you have Level 2 Leadership, the Chief will teach all the children at the same time if you drag the Chief onto one child. It will say he is "lecturing" and some of the children will learn a skill. If you drag your Chief to the amphitheater, he will lecture all of the villagers and that is different from teaching the children.

I don't think so. Under Leadership on the Tech page, it doesn't say anything about the adults learning skills. Just the children.

In my second tribe, the chief turned out to the be two year old at the very start of the game. This child chief is now 11 and I have second level leadership but she still cannot lecture the children. How old does she have to be before she can lecture the children? I'm assuming that she will have to be 18. Does anyone else know if this assumption is correct?

Also, too bad that the lectures don't impart skills to villagers when the chief lectures the entire village. That would be nice. \:\)

Yes, the chief must be at least age 18 to lecture children.

The chief was trying to demonstrate what happens to villagers who are stubborn and don't learn. My chief needs to give that lecture more often.

Lol. That's true, Kristine! I wish mine did that! She's only ever pulled out a fish or crab.. well, at least when I've been watching! Wish they could go to a real school like human kids have to-- learn something! Heck, at least pick mushrooms and collectibles without the help of the almighty finger! \:\)

TheBookQueen, you've noticed that too? I will click on my kids and it will say hunting for mushrooms or looking for collectibles, but I've watched and not once have I ever seen any of the kids find something on their own. I've even seen it say hunting for mushrooms and the kids is bent over RIGHT next to a mushroom, but do they see it? Noooo. hahahaha! Still need us, I guess. \:\)

That's what else is missing from this game! What happened to the school, from VV1? Never really thought about that, till I saw this quote. Why can't they have the school, AND receive the lectures? They'll learn more that way. \:D
