I got level 2 in nature and made the potion. When she drank it, it blew up. I nearly lost her. I used the following in this order. 2 black orchid and one pitcher. Should I try again? Has it happened to any one else?

Mine blew up on my chief the first time i tried. I retried the same exact potion again with a different villager and it worked just fine the second time.

Blow ups are possible until you attain Level 3 Alchemy.

Yes I have had many blowups they R irritatng at times

And they make the people's face green

Everyone could save themselves a lot of confusion by reading the descriptions of the tech and the messages that the game provides. The description for Alchemy Tech (click the "?" next to the Buy button) says, "Advancements in alchemy reduce the chance of dangerous accidents that can harm your villagers."

It's the tech level, not the recipe that causes blowups.

I had a blow up even with level 3 alchemy (and level 3 of everything). Everything was finished and I was watching my villagers just for fun. I noticed a little decrease in one of my elderlies health bar, so decided to prepare a health potion. I even picked up my villager ready to use the potion as soon as it finishes. The pot exploded, and some 30 villagers working in the lab began to run away with horror. Gee, it was fun to watch that.
