Hi! One of my males is a master in all skills except for parenting. He is embracing all the time, but nothing happens!? There is no room for more kids, is that the point? He is 40 years old, so I'm starting to get a bit stressed by now...

When there is no more room for villagers, children will not be produced.

Yeah, I know there will be no more children, but I'm trying to get a master parent. Does he need to make kids to become a master parent? Or is it enough with just embracing and "going indoors"?

When there is not enough housing, they want not to go indoor, so you can't make them kissing! So the parent skills will not increase!

But they do go indoors?

And NOW did the parenting-skill increase a bit at least! ^^ So obviously there was no problem, I just have to wait very long =P

Anyway, you don't need to get a baby, just "kissing" makes increase the parenting skill of the one who kiss the other!

You should see some increase in parenting skills when you "kiss", if you do "speed kissing" (no need to wait to see them go indoors-match them up over and over) eventually they will gain parenting points.

I've been having my guy tell the children stories since I don't have enough housing for him to be able to kiss but his skill level hasn't gone up... how many times does he need to tell a story before he gains any skills for it?

I've been having the same problem. Is it a bug?

They don't succeed to tell a story every time but only if they go on the podium (or they say "no") and they gain parenting skills each time. But they must tell a lot of stories before you can see something changing in the skills' bar.

Oh, okay. My villager had been successfully telling stories for a while, and I was wondering about that.

When I was trying to get Jack of All Skills Award, and my villager had mastered all skills except parenting, I just kept putting my soon-to-be jack of all skills on an elderly villager, and since older villagers can't have kids, my soon-to-be Jack of All Skills mastered parenting in several minutes without making any babies.
