I only have 1 master farmer and a trainee I know I need 3 but can how to gwt 3rd with no food to harvest. Do I need to start over?(spoilers o.k.)

You don't have to do the puzzles in order. Just do other things and wait until you see that you have everything required. I have some done, then some skipped and others done. It won't matter.
