The statue can take hours to complete depending on how many builders you have pushing it, it took me 3 real life days to complete that puzzle!!!

As for getting builders to work, the chief must be on the grassy area at the bottom of the pathway going up "directing work" and drop the rest of the builders mid way up the path they should imediatly go and "push the statue" then - just keep an eye on them they like to wander.
