I am going crazy. I can not seem to find or grow enough food for my 25 villagers. Then when there is not about food they start to worry and walk around the food storage unit. This way they do not work, so no extra tech is available. I need some assistance in the worst way. and yes one of my keys is not working so that is why this subject has fancy words. So 1-how do I get enough food and 2-how do I get them to go back to work.

What food source do you have?

The problem is likely that you have far too many villagers for your food supplies to support. The game was designed so that the honey and fruit trees will support 10-12 villagers (a few more, if you're willing to spend a lot of time hunting mushrooms). Growing your population beyond that is likely to result in starvation for some of your villagers. Since you have so many villagers, you probably have enough tech points to seek the final (unlimited) food source.

I had tried it with less villagers, only it takes a very long time to get anywhere. I am going to restart it one more time and see what happens, will keep my villagers below 15 and see what happens and even with all those people getting points becomes difficult as well, I mean how many people can be involved in the research, building and farming?? For cheriann, I have the three trees, and mushrooms. May have to rethink the order in which I buy tech points as in doing the the one tech item to assure myself of being able to catch fish before growing. Only thing to bother me is I had already solved half the puzzles. Oh well, did it once will do it again and let you all know how it goes. Lady CFII if you think I am going in the wrong direction I give you permission to use my e-mail which may save us time. Thanks for the help

I have tested keeping a Magic Faction tribe (where food is less plentiful) going with 14-16 villagers, and was able to make it to fishing with a little over 100 food to spare. Of course, I do have some good strategies for playing the game, and I did spend time hunting mushrooms after every rain (and grabbing that extra fruit that drops). I started the game less than 3 days ago, and I never paused it. I used a combination of game speeds from slow to fast, depending upon how much time I had to babysit the peeps.

I now have 21 villagers, having just lost my eldest villager to old age. I have L3 in only one tech (Medicine), and I have completed the first 8 puzzles, along with 10-13. Now I'm concentrating on growing my tribe and gaining tech points. The tribe is successful, and I check in now and then to see how they're doing and to try to grab some colletcibles that I'm missing. I expect to finish the game within the next couple of days.

I guess the point is that there's no point in rushing things. The game is very playable if you take your time and don't push to get things done too fast. Our next game won't be here for a long time, so relax and enjoy VV3 while it's still fresh and new.

Thank you so very much and I have to admit this is probably the only game site where you know if you post a question someone will actually respond within a normal amount of time so I am very greatful and will try your method. Besides it isn't like I don't have any other games on my computer. *LOL*

Re my strange villagers, well so far so good, they have lasted long enough to get me [SPOILER REMOVED]. Only thing now is trying to get the 50,000 points [SPOILER REMOVED]. How does one do that with only 15-17 people. Oh and my bees love the flowers on my island since they keep giving me lots of honey... any suggestions??

I put the game on fast and had all my workers researching. For my food source I hunted mushrooms like mad. Enough to get the Mushroom award. LOL... I did this with only 8 adults and got to 50,000 points within 3-4 hours. Of course, many of my adults were already at Master level in this area.

In addition, I had my orchard going with 3 trees so that was another source of food. I only used one or two workers to harvest keeping the others getting tech points.

The chief directed the work the full time. I don't know if that increased the speed of gathering tech points but it can't hurt. I was a real task master. Unless they needed a drink or to eat I made them stay at their task.

I wish to thank all of those that helped in the negotiations with my villagers, it finally *WORKED* A few were lost during a serious brawl, but all is well now and everyone is once again happy and healthy. In other words thanks to everyone that helped me and if I can ever return the favor I will most gladly do so.!!!!!
