Sorry if this is already answered. I have looked in the dif threads and can't find any answers.

I can't figure out how to find the collectables that the chief is pointing out. I tried twice and looked all over but couldn't find any rare ones.

How does he point them out?

When you watch the chief pointing out a collectible, listen for the gong and you'll see a little rainbow rise up. At that point, watch what direction the chief is pointing or looking. That's the general direction on the island you should look for the rare collectible. Sometimes they're not always easy to spot, especially the feathers!

The chief's pointing is not intended to indicate the precise direction in which you should be looking. It could be anywhere.

good to know. so, I just have to look all over and it will appear somewhere? that helps. At least I know what to do know.

Wow. didn't know that. I've only done that a few times so far so it must have just been dumb luck that I found my collectibles in the general direction the chief ended up looking.

I think its a neat new feature to help out with the collectibles because I never seemed to finish mine in vv2!

AHH! So you have to search for the collectible and drop a kid on it? I searched yesterday but did not find one. Today, I did an incomplete search. Misunderstood it to mean that the chief would point out a rare collectible and kid would automatically grab it. Duh! Now I have to wait another 24 hrs!

I love it.

You also have to look carefully for collectibles that may be hidden behind a tree. You can't see them at all, but you can see the little sparkles the collectible puts off. They may also hide behind graves too - but I'm not sure on that, haven't noticed yet, though it happened in VV2.

Make sure you wait to search until the Chief is completely done. First time I tried it, I must've tried 3 sweeps before I realized he/she wasn't finished pointing it out yet.
