Can anyone give me a hint about what to do with that giant clam that snaps shut when you go near it out on the reef? Not that far in the game but I did get one of those pop up things where the kids were watching the otters. I clicked "watch them" and then it said something about the otters eating clams and a new food source. But all it did was turn one of my kids into an apprentice farmer. So now I'm curious about that clam - especially cuz food's running low.

Better u check the games guide. There is whole detail. I just wana let u know if u r early in the game then just forgot abt it for a time being, its related to a puzzle.

The best is to look at the VV3 guides (Highlight for spoiler): it's the puzzle 15!
