So my chief can lecture the rest of the villagers any time he wants. Are there benefits for these? I see no difference... It could be useful to gather all the villagers in one spot...

Don't know what benefits, but I like to watch the scene: gestures from chief and reactions from tribe.
In my second tribe, I have a runner for a chief, and that makes lecturing extra funny: long after the cief has run of, the tribe is still cheering him and waving to his empty place

Well, I mean, there's a difference between a chief teaching the kids and giving a lecture to the village, right?
To tutor kids, you drop him on a kid, but to lecture the village you just drop him in the amphitheater.
I'm just wondering if there's a difference and benefits.

There is definitely a difference and a positive aspect to the Chief lecturing the kids. You get experience points each time in difference subject(s). That way when your kids are at a workable age, you've got a headstart plus mine have started their preferred job without my help.

I've noticed the kids who benefit from the lecture get a sparkle over their head towards the end of the Chief's lecture.

Just remember, the Chief can't lecture more than once in 24 hrs.

Good luck!

Yes, you can lecture to the whole village as often as you'd like, but the chief can teach the children only once in a 24 hour period. When your chief teaches the children, they gain experience. But I haven't seen where anyone gains any experience when the chief lectures to the whole village.

Umm, what you are talking about is TEACHING not LECTURING.
Lecturing is where you drop the chief on the ampitheatre and the whole tribe comes to listen.
Teaching is where, once every 24 hours you drop the chief onto a child and they gain experience points \:\)

I don't think that you gain anything from lecturing, but remember Carla's video? It had this thing that popped up and said what the chief was doing. Maybe I haven't got that far yet...

I was wondering how to do the "teaching" I kept trying to have him/her teach all the children at the same time...I supposed it's only one per day or once per day for each child?

Heh...so the leader can only "teach" one child per day. Got it.

Does he "teach" a random child no matter who you drop him on? (I ask because when I tried to have him teach a specific child, he just ran away...then the knowledge appeared to be given to a different kid.)

Edited because I cannot spel.

No, as far as my game, the Chief teaches all the children 1x per day. If you drop the Chief (must be adult I think) onto a child, he will go to the amphitheater and teach all the kids. Only some will gain skill.

No!! Sorry!
The leader may teach once a day and no more! He may teach 1 or 100 kids, but once per day.

If he die and you have another one, he's able to teach (and make food... ) even if the other has done it yet.

But it's not called Teaching, it's called Lecturing in both cases (at least in my game it is, maybe it's a version difference?)

(The only reason I point it out is so that new players aren't frustrated trying to get their Chiefs to "teach".)

Does anyone elses Chief give a Magic Showwhile he's lecturing? Mine pulls things from his robe and then they dissappear again. Also what is with the kids leaving certain footprints certain places but only sometimes.... Is it after it rains or what?

The "magic show" is opportunities for the kids to learn. It seems to me, each item is representative of the different skill types. If a star twinkles above a childs head during a particular item, they will gain skill in that field. So, if the Chief is showing a baby they will gain in parenting, etc.

About the rain...I don't know. If there is a pattern I haven't noticed and I don't think is effects the game.

Good Luck! \:\)
