Im trying to get a builder so they can push the statue, but, for some reason, its almost impossible for my villagers to even get to trainee builder! By the time they get to master they're about 60-70 years old, even though they start at around 20! How can I get them to improve faster? Help!

^^ The way I built up my first master was directing to clearing the leafs at the far end of the green patch of grass hope this helps.

I suggest starting on other things that require building.

Ive already cleared the leaves and rubble and built all the huts. All I can do now is 'fix' and examine the huts. But they stay for 5 seconds then wander off and in there aaction box it says 'wondering what to do' or something like that. thx for trying 2 help though.

try this potion: cactus, lotus, black orchid

I send three children off to collect the herbs, then, once they are done, I drag my cheif over to "lecture" which gets all my villagers in one area. Then, while he's doing that, I take one scientist over to mix the potion. When he's done, I hit pause (spacebar) and drag every villager over and drop them on the pot (make sure their status changes to "drinking potion") then unpause (spacebar again). They'll all say "must exercise!" and start running around (if you have lots of villagers, this can be very entertaining ). After about two minutes, they will stop and either say "no" or "mm-mm" or will gain some building skill. After doing this about twice (three times for stubborn ones) they should be at "trainee builder". At that point you can drop them on the statue (only if the cheif is "directing work") and they will work on moving the statue most of mine were master builders by them time the statue was done.

Mine didnt improve at building except an extremely tiny bit and are still not trainee. But thx 4 trying.

I know this isn't any help at this point but it is weird you can't get a master.

I do one task at a time, started with 2 builders on hut then up to 3 builders on clearing leaves and 4 once I got to clearing the rubble. I have been spreading out the work with my other villagers as well so they can earn skill in all levels working towards Elders.

I have 4 masters, 3 under the ages of 30 and 3 adept under the age of 25. They were all adept pretty quick into whichever building task I started them in first. Only one of my master builders has done nothing but build, He has been a master for a long time and he just turned 50.

i think they cant improve well from just fixing huts, but there is nothing else (no other building project) that they can do! I wish that they could get better at building by fixing/examining huts. At this point, im NEVER going to get my villagers to be good builders and im NEVER going to complete the statue puzzle unless there is some event that will make one of my villagers good at building !

I agree with the fact that they do not improve as much in building when they fix huts than when they first build the huts. I find it particularly irritating after the puzzles have been completed. I think it's because the chief will not direct fixing huts... but that's just my 2 cents.

Irritating? My 4 Builders got repairing that bath in their heads, and wouldn't do anything else until they were finished. They all became Masters while doing that. Now they are dividing their time between building a second hut and clearing rubble. And the Chief won't direct clearing rubble either...

Yes, lloydbug, the chief *will* direct building the huts (Mine is directing right now. I believe the chief will also direct the rubble, but I'm not certain of that one. Just drop the chief on the project just like you would any other villager (to have them work on it). The chief should direct from there.

That's weird that your Chief won't direct clearing the rubble, mine will. But I had to try putting the Chief down in a few different spots before she would direct.

I don't have any huts that need fixing yet as I'm still building them, but my Chief does direct in the building of them.

I tried your potion just for fun and didn't think of assigning them a "skill" - I only keep skills checked until they make Esteemed Elder and Doctor. They ran all over and since I had alot of young learning to fish the food bin is now overflowing! Thanks!! Wish I'd know this when I was loosing people to old age and didn't quite have enough tech points for Level 3 Meds~~

yes I had the problem with the builders not wanting to finish the hut they would keep going back to the bath it was driving me crazy I had no kids and was at max people 17 , it took me over a hour to sit and watch 5 builders finish a hut that was already at 90% everytime they would go to wonder off I would put them back to building the hut , mine is set on easy

where is the 3rd hut?im sorry if i put this questin in the wrong place.i cant get anymore villagers untill i build the 3rd hut.

I'm furious at my builders and my chief. Every time I open the game up, half the builders are working on the rubble instead of the bath, and the chief is directing my lone farmer, who is doing JUST FINE on her own, thank you chiefy. :|

I'm tempted to just sit there and micromanage them until the bath gets done, but it's at 79 percent so it would take ages.

I've found it best to only set the builders one task at a time. Otherwise, as you've found out, they'll wander between tasks, and as Murphy's Law says the one you want them to finish first will be the one they spend the least time on. At least the two tasks you mention are close together so the builders don't spend a lot of valuable time wandering from job to job, as would be the case (say) for the rubble clearance and hut building.

nope, still nothing. I created a new tribe and im making lots of builders and making them have kids w/ eachother so they will have builder kids.

Bunnylover, on the detail screen set the preference to 'building'. Keep putting the villagers on a building task until they are trainee's ( this usually takes about 4 or so successful attempts). You can also use a potion, found in the VV3 guides that will encourage exercise. As we know, exercise can make us stronger and maybe even better buliders! For any benefit, let them finish their exercise or their task. If they are gaining skill your bottom bar will read 'your villager improved at construction!' or something like that.

On my 3rd Tribe, I didn't have them draw the plans for the bath untill I had my 2nd hut built. As you get to 17 and can't have more babies, I wanted them to finish this first. I've learned not to have too many things being built at once. LOL

What I did was not build the last hut until I had the statue requirements. That way I could have them on the hut until they were trainees and then put them on the statue. Remember, once they're trainee, they can work on the statue.

I set them to building, keep dragging them bck when they stop working, make the potion, and they NEVER IMPROVE!!!!!!!!!

My tribe died. There was a disease spreading and they all died... But my new tribe has really good builders !

I am having the same problem. My builders are adept - 6 of them and they are now 64 yrs old and since they were 39 I have been dragging them back to the huts and repairing them and even though it says the builder has improved at construction - the line has not moved. I have built every hut, cleared the rock of leaves, cleared the rubble, repaired the bath. There is nothing else I can do to encourage improvement other than repairing the huts and I seriously don't think that 25 years of improvments to the huts can result in no improvement but it appears that way.

I have even gone so far as to mark my monitor with a dry erase marker to see if my adept builder ever improves - thus far - no such luck.

lol, I thought of doing that once but I didn't think my parents would let me =D

To work on the statue your builders don't have to be masters, they only need to bed trainees, I have at least three trainee builders working on my statue, and working on the statue will also give them more skill.

I finished the statue, there is a blue item at the base of the statue that when I drag an adept builder to it, it says "Only a master builder can attempt this". Whatever that means.

And onto another issue...even though I fixed the lift, I cannot get any of my people to figure it out.

For the lift you have to wait till it rains and then quickly drag a villager onto it so it says "Standing on the lift" then the rain will fill up the barrel end and your villager will raise up to the tree and knock down a fruit which you can use to plant another tree. You can only plant two trees though.

That is it?! Well I did manage that much I thought after all the hard work that there was more to it than that. That is kind of a let down...oh well, back to repairing huts for no reason....

ok after an hour more of repairing various huts and seeing "improved in construction" at least 24 times - my adept builder is not any closer to a master builder then when I started. I used to love this game - now I am not so sure that I am going to start over...this stinks.

Aaaargh, please dont say that.... im having the exact same problem.
All my master builders are dead, i've been fixing huts all day to no avail, i've even tried the potion suggestion a few times, but nothing.
I'm just gonna turn the game off till i hope some other bright person comes up with a fab solution....(i hope)
