I have all 5 tribes going and have enough tech points in some to buy higher tech, but am not sure what to buy first. Also can you buy both nature and magic factions in one tribe?

One faction per tribe, either nature or magic. WHat level techs do you have already?

I haven't bought any yet so I am on level 1 of everything. trying to go slow so I can get it all right

I find it really helps to have only 1 or 2 tribes going at a time - if you have 5 it's hard to give each one enough attention and in the early stages there is quite a lot of attention required, keeping the stubborn peeps on-task and collecting the collectibles.

I like to go for things which will get me the tech points faster - so I tend to go for Science and Magic L1 early on - but you also have to balance that with the need to keep your tribe fed... the great thing about VV3 is that there's no one "right" way to play it!

You can have either magic OR nature in one tribe - but not both at the same time. But if you're running more than one tribe, you could try one of each!

Thank you so much that did help. I am trying different factions in each, and went for the restoration tech so I could get the lift fixed. One thing I found useful is that if your Chief isnt one of the kids, leave it till later. I hate losing a worker so early in the game and really hate when my Chief is female and gets pregnant and wont give food or direct work. LOL
