I do not require a spoiler, but a general hint would do. I need to find a food source for my villagers! I put them in the ocean and there were sharks around. I put them on a fruit tree and they did nothing. It looks like the catapult will get them to the rree. In the meantime, where am I supposed to find food for them?

The villagers are absolutely beautiful! And so is the scenery! And I love the dresses and the new likes! One of my villagers likes magic and another likes dreaming! And I solved the first puzzle!

Concentrate on the bee hive....you'll figure it out

If at the beginning you do the tutorial, it will tell you how to find the initial food source.

PS...it doesn't last long, looks like my poor village is gonna starve the first time around...lol.

Anyone know the second food source?

Someone please know the second food source, mine are starving as well, never had to hunt for so many mushrooms since VV1, love it though.

Before the tree matures, there are hand tools necessary to gather food. Won't say where or what they look like, but they're visible.

SPOILER!!!!!! Find the banana, or Mango, on the ground, plant it, you'll grow a tree of fruit, plus your cheif makes magical food every 24 hours. Man this one is hard though! LOL! I LOVE IT!!! Thank's all @ LDW!! now go get some sleep!

The lift and the rain help you get food

Wahhhhhh, woke up this morning and all but 2 of my villagers are dead and there's no food. My hive and tree don't produce enough to sustain them. I've built the lift and tried the rain trick, but nobody stays on the lift long enough. Is there a food source that I'm missing here?

Are you putting your villager on the lift before the rain starts, or right after the rain starts? A villager won't stay on the lift indefinitely. The initial food sources that are available at the start of the game (Puzzle 2 and the first tree) will not sustain your tribe, so you must successfully use the lift.

I tried it both ways actually, but I think I may have tried using a child thinking they were lighter. It was late and I'd been up for HOURS playing. Gonna start a new game when I get home from work and try it again from scratch. Thanks for getting back to me LadyCFII!

PS, any idea when the strategy guide might be out? Some of us old folks don't have the logical thinking skills we used to

We're not exactly sure how soon we will have a strategy guide available. We have been so busy getting the game ready that we just haven't had the time to write one yet.

If you get a villager to ride the lift a fruit will drop. I used my farmer to get the fruit and she planted it... I have a full orchard with three trees

What are nox and tuberous? I am seeing nothing at all like that.

Try using the lift and planting more trees. And get your kids to find mushrooms as much as possibly. Im in the same situation as you but try those things

I think you have to build the lift then use a certain stew mixture to make your villager lighter.

I didnt use any stew. As soon as it starts to rain put a villager on the platform and wait

nevermind then. I haven't used the lift yet and I found a stew that made them feel lighter so I figured that is what is was for.

But is there a third food source that never runs out like the fish?

I havent found anything yet but the sea glints like the water in one and 2 when theres something important in it.

The stew to make them lighter i *think* comes into the game a bit later on

Looking forward to find someway to replenish the orchard too! I like seeing the villagers pick the fruit.

If you drag your chief onto the food bin, he will create food. That should help until you can find more food.

The orchard (and honey) will replenish itself, though not necessarily by a great deal.

two potion recipes are found in the undergroud cave, might be some "food" for thought, one is for nature faction and one is for magic faction

First you have honey and your first tree that you plant. Then when the lift is fixed, when the rain comes, you drop someone on the lift and you will get seeds for new trees. After that when you go on the lift, your villagers will deposit fruit in the bin. Then when you get the 2nd level of your chosen faction, you make the potion for them to let you fish. That is your unlimited resource.

And the "get lighter" potion is not for the lift, its for one of the keys for the door.

the 2nd source is the tree u start out with 1 tree and after the lift is fixed and it rains put a villager on it and collect another fuirt to plant.

to go fishing u must restore the alcmuy lab and make a stew( i forget wat flowers) and thrown it into the ocean and the sharks leave u alone.

The potion is different based on your faction. I won't post the solution here, even though the topic says "contains spoilers," but when you discover the cave (Not the door) the writing on the wall will have two recipes on it.

All this has already been posted; it's kind of frustrating to see a thread that says the same thing over and over because nobody that posts to it actually reads it.

The cave is uncovered by moving the rubble to the right of the bath. Inside, part of the image shown will be of a woman holding a torch to illuminate a wall, which will have hieroglyphic-like characters on it; they're potion recipes. One for magic, one for nature. If all you want is the potions, then go to the guides forum, and check out the potion list.
