I downloaded a demo version of Village Sim and within 2 days I purchased a licensed copy of the software. I was thrilled with the game. Unfortunately, within those first 2 days I lost my first village. When I attempt to start a new game, it loads and I can navigate with the new villagers but within minutes of starting the new game, my TREO650 does a soft reset and all data is lost.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a fix for this soft reset?

There are some things that you can try. The first (likely) cause of your problems is a corrupted savegame file. To recover from that you need to completely uninstall the game using the Palm OS delete function and reinstall the game. Also, a little tip - your game data is not saved until you exit the game, which is why you keep losing your game in progress. It's always a good idea to save your game regularly to preserve your accomplishments. There is a patched version of Village Sim that prevents crashes upon starting a new game, but it doesn't sound like that's your problem. Just in case, though, you can install the VillageSimFixed version after you uninstall the game.

Treos are a little trickier than non-phone PDAs because they are doing a lot more at the same time. I've heard of problems caused by having VersaMail issues, as well as "down-level" Treo software. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Treo software (check the Palm site) and the latest VersaMail.

If you continue to have problems, please post back here or fill out the support form and you will be able to get additional help!

Thanks Ladycfii! Took your advice, uninstalled and reinstalled Village Sim and now I am a happy camper. My villagers are busy again creating their new life.
