I'm sorry HP, but I think this is getting a bit stupid. This is all the kind of basic stuff found in the rules. Besides, this is getting more complicated than the SPCV (which I think is even a tiny bit too complex even though I am the president.) All I wanted to do hear was mention this issue. We don't need this "petition" of sorts. That will do the opposite of making the forums more pleasant. You get it?
So . . .

Let's just forget about all of this and try to just NOT make frivolous posts (without having to create a bill of newbie rights)

You make a great point. My main idea was to show that a little friendliness in gently correcting newbies is easy if we think of them as equals. I wasn't specifically thinking of a petition, but I can definitely see how that could create some other problems. And it has now occured to me that by adding this "agreement" per se, I was doing one of the very things I was recommending to for us all not to do, and that was go off-topic and/or post irrelevant or not-so-relevant material.
So I offer my double apologies, and I won't post it.

No hard feelings on this end; I want to be part of the solution, not the problem.
