My sweet little Golden Mali is now a ripe 5 yrs of age. I have just a few concerns though.

1. She was born without anyone being told they were allowed to breed. I understand that these are all "humans" inhabiting my PDA and they will often do as they please. However, as soon as the villagers were all done paying their respects to this magical baby in the village center, all the men went back to work at their various tasks. I was busy following my first master builder back to his puzzle 12 spot when I realized his lovely Akiki, also a master builder, was not following. Upon scrolling back to the village center I was shocked to find all of my women had began nursing babies. I'm not talking about 1 or 2 ladies, but 23 ladies all with child. Is this normal? Is my golden baby the reason for this? When did this "party" that could result in this occur?

2. Initially my golden Mali was interesting to watch. I was certain that she would certainly do some "special rearranging in the top right hand of my screen soon. However, all she does is answer the call of nature, dance and reamin permanently perplexed by that dang cactus.

3. 7 years after the birth of this wonderfully unspecial child, all of my women are still nursing their babies. What is most disappointing is that I know once they stop nursing these children will only by 2 yr olds and not half way to working age. That is of course if these women will ever drop the ankle biters.

Any suggestions will be wonderful! Thank you!

Your Golden Child should have been born age 5, and remain that age forever. You might want to check her age on her details screen.

If any of your males has ANY skill at breeding, they will frequently make use of that skill and can put an entire population of females in Village Center. Just because you don't have that set as their preferred skill, doesn't mean they won't do it!

Your concern about them nursing for 7 years is likely unfounded - the Golden Child has no effect on the number of births or the duration of the nursing period. The attainment of Level 3 in Fertility is likely the culprit there.

Your Golden Child will get "interesting" in her own sweet time. Have patience.

[And no fair editing your post without a trace while someone is replying to it! You originally said that Mali was 7! ]

My apologies for the edit. I realized my mistake in referring to her age and took the appropriate action to fix the age error. I was thinking about the nursing for seven years while typing about the age... thank you for the advice.

I did have a frisky male in the bunch. Yet, all of the ladies, save for 5 of them, are still nursing. Perhaps they are over-protective and want to reassure their little ones that they are just as special as the "special" one.

I have decided that my Special Mali's name is an abbreviation for Malice, as she has now discovered how to make parties and is continually distracting all of my hard workers. I hope that she will be "special" in the sense that I had anticipated... instead of "special" in that she is flighty and scatter-brained. Pray for her please.

Oh, she's special and will fulfill your hopes and dreams for her. Just be patient with her seemingly errant ways.

So, how long (in actual human clock time) have all of these ladies been nursing and at what game speed? There is an Island Event that can cause extended nursing time, but only on an individual basis. Your situation doesn't seem particularly normal.

By the time I went to bed only 9 were still nursing. When I woke up noone was nursing anylonger. My population is now maxed out. They nursed from anywhere between 9 RT hours and when ever I woke up. It was quite strange. The only island event was a red vial poured out before the GC was born. Then everyone was nursing! All is well now, and there doesn't seem to be any lasting effects.

Thanks
