I was wondering if someone can give me some helpful info regarding the crop.

I have been playing the game for about a week now (level 2 on all tech) and have run into a problem, my crops continue to die off.

When this first happened, it alarmed me but it came back after awhile. Again, I had my food up to 630 my crops disappeared. I quickly switch everyone (about 9 people) to farming and they spent the next 10+hr just watering the crop but nothing happened. My food dropped to 310. I switched the game from normal to fast and switched the game off. When I came back a couple hours later, my crops had reappeared.

I then got my food back up to 480 and thought I was safe. I assigned an extra person to farming (4 people total). Well when I came back to the game later, my crop had disappeared again! Again, I switched everyone to farming and they did their back and forth trip from the well to the crop watering it to hell. I thought that went my food got low again, it would reappear like last time. Well, that did not happen. The game was running for hours and now my food is down to 110 w/ 13 people to feed. I currently have the game paused because everyone is going to start dieing off!

It seems like now matter how much I water/plant the crop it will not come back. Also, even when it does come back, it eventually dies off again. I had about four people assigned to farming but they do not seem to be doing the job.

Is there any way to keep it stable? What am I doing wrong?

The farm has a crop cycle just like a real farm. Since you have 13 villagers, you are approaching the maximum number of mouths that the farm will feed. The more villagers you have, the faster they will consume the crops on the farm and the faster the farm will be empty. You should seriously think about researching level 3 of Harvesting so that your villagers can learn to fish.
