Something is wrong with the VST - I am sure I did not run VST and Plant Tycoon at the same time - yet all my seeds were wiped out. Seems like there could be a conflict with some other program on my computer. The VST worked well for quite some time - then boom - everything is gone. Tried using it again - put seeds in there, next time I go in - gone, and I didn't even run Plant Tycoon in between.
This is happening with the newest version and even the older verion of the VST.
Any suggestions? I've lost 300+ varieties of seeds.

Did you make some backups of your game and of the VST (I think it goes together) ? You could use it. But if there is a conflict with some other program on your computer, you must solve it before.

Unfortunately - no backups - until earlier today, I could not find where the VST file was being saved. Now I know where it is, but I'm sure this version is the one with all the whiped out seeds.
But the main problem is that I don't know what the confict is with my PC - just that the saved seeds dissappear. No error messages - nothing to give me a clue.
The VST had worked fine for about a month - and now nothing, in any version of the VST I download.
I guess I'll just have to try and play the game the way it was meant to be played - only using the game seed trays alone.

My daughter and I are having the same problem, I have had my VST wiped out about 6 times now. Today it happened and I hadn't even exited Plant Tycoon at all that day and when I went to VST the seeds were all gone again. I think it is happening when my internet connection goes down. I have been having a lot of problems with that lately. Can anyone help me?

The VST is a user mod (which isn't supported by LDW) and comes with no guarantees that it will work with anyone's Plant Tycoon game, or that you will never have problems with it. Borg does try to help people with his creation, but he can't anticipate every possible computer system configuration that people will be using VST on.

The best protection against such problems is to make regular backups of both the savegame files and the VST files.

I'm having the same problem, and it's very frustrating. I never have the programs open at the same time but I still lose seeds. It's gotten to the point where I'm making backups with every round of plants I grow and I'm restoring files quite often. Something's up. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. It's no fun starting from scratch!

As I said, LDW didn't write the VST, and we don't support it. My best advice is to make frequent backups.

I had the same problem with VST....sometimes my seeds stayed there, but most times I lost them all, but found that the reason it was happening was because I kept checking my Stats in the Collection screen.
Since I have kept away from that Stats button (even though I'm dying to press it) all my seeds are there faithfully waiting for me to plant them....now I LOVE VST...could not have gotten so far in the game without it!!

there is a new version of VST that should correct this problem, but it has not been beta-tested. readysetrun (and others who can reproduce the seed loss problem) - if you have time, please test the new version, perhaps on a test game first and if no one finds any problems we can consider this problem fixed.

I too had "lost" all my seeds in VST. Didn´t know why, but they all were "gone". Now that I´ve read about "updating-the-stats" I remember I´ve done the same. Just tried the new version of VST on the old VST file and I got all my seeds back.

I am very happy about that, since I stored all my high-$ seeds away in VST while working only with ball cactuses.
