I have a 5 year old child running around my village. Upon inspection I see who the parents are. The father has been dead for a long time (more than 5 years). The mother recently died at the age of 74. I didn't think that the women could have babies at the age of 69. There has been nothing out of the ordinary that took place to cause this. Weird......really weird.

Did you ring the gong? Perhaps your little boy was recently an adult man. That happened in my tribe and the long dead parents were shown on his pic again

How many moms with that hairstyle and clothes did you have? I've only had one mother with that hairstyle and clothing. I have one child (not the one that was produced in this event)that had the same hairstyle, but different clothing. There were no island events that took place that would have resulted in this.

Have you ever dressed the villagers in different clothing? Yes, but by the time I had enough points to spare, the father of this child (not yet born) was already dead. The mother never had her clothing changed. I have only changed the name of one villager (it reverted back to his original name when he died) and he has nothing to do with this, so I'm still stumped. The child was born a master scientist and an adept builder. I have never had any children born with that many skills, but I'm afraid that he dislikes running, so he takes his time getting from place to place. LOL

If you look at the breeding charts in another post, the mother is a 9, the father is a 12, and the child is an 11

What a strange event... I can only think of what LadyCFII has suggested... an island event or the effects of ringing the gong creating this person. I'm leaning more towards the rining of the gong due to your mention of the child being a Master Scientist already. The two things I can think of are: 1. As someone already mentioned, the gong being rung and granting youth, resulting in an adult male being changed back to a child, keeping all of the skills learned while he was still an adult and having pictures of his parents being shown again. or 2. The gong being rung and granting life, where the mother would become pregnant, no matter her age. However, I can't see why it would put the father's picture in there though. I'm leaning more towards the first explanation though.

I rang the gong once and it granted health. I went back through my logs. I admit, I haven't looked at them until now, but it seem to show the date, time, and second it happened, except for this morning when I discovered this. I have an entire section of log that reads "Sun May 04 06:28:52 2008:". There are hundreds of entries made at this time, which was the time that I discovered this, but it was after that that I rang the gong.
If it would let me edit my original post I'd put in a {Spoiler} tag, as I didn't realise that it would lead to this when I first posted this, but alas, it will let me edit all posts except for the original one.

The logs are erased and rewritten every time you launch the game, so it might not help you figure this out. It would take a lot more than speculation to know for sure, but it does seem likely that the gong granted this villager youth in the recent past. Yes, I realise this, but my game has not been closed and re-launched for several days now, so one would assume that the logs should be accurate.
