I had another post on this, but with it being older, I wasn't sure if anyone would see the update. I'm not sure whether this is still normal, or if something is going on since this village didn't have this problem before.

I have totems in the upper part of the "sacred area for the dead", but none near the black vine. Okay... so

Update: Last night I found three villagers stuck by the black vine. Their actions read: Fishing; Telling a story; and Arguing! I was wondering who the third guy was arguing with... the guy "fishing"? --- there's an obvious argument since he wasn't fishing, but was actually stuck twitching back and forth at the vine; Or whether he was arguing with the guy telling the story!
Guess we'll never know, but it was a little humurous.

Then this morning, five of my little people were stuck in the same spot. Two were arguing, 1 telling a joke, 1 was teaching (obviously not teaching them how to get unstuck), and 1 was chatting.

I know they occassionally get stuck, but it seems to be common now, and there are so many of them that are getting stuck.

Is it possible the totems have something to do with it? Should I put a totem in that area with the hope they won't go to that area (although, as you all know they can walk right thru the totems), should I move the totems somewhere else or do I just accept this glitch in this particular village?

I've never had this to be this big of a problem (even in this current game). Before it was seldom, now it's frequent. I guess if I put it in perspective, it's really not that big of a deal, just inconvenient. But I just want to see if it's something I've done ie: positioning of totems, making too many healers, etc... I'm just wondering if there's a way to make it less frequent.

All my totems, in my 3 current tribes, are together on the circle ancient place where is the mosaic. And, in the 3 tribes, it's here that they go for arguing, telling a joke, teaching, and chatting.
I don't think the totems have something to do with the doctors but it really seems that they are the villagers' favourites to speak with!!
I'll try to change the place of my totems to see if it exact!

Mine get stuck too but I don't think it is cuz the totems. I think it just happens. So I have never asked why or posted but may be some one will know the answer. Sorry I couldnt help out more

Sometimes my kids get stuck in the ocean or on top of one of the roofs. The funniest thing was a guy down by the mosiac, on the [censored] twisting like he was possessed with the action, embracing.

Mine got stuck when I had the totems all stacked on top of each other in section #1 (Nature is Calling!). So it's definitely not the totems. Also, as far as I can tell, the villagers don't seek out the totems.

I think the villagers getting stuck is just a _bug_ in the software. Too many people have reported the same problem in the same places.

I think the reason it seems the villagers are seeking out the totems is because the totems just happen to be placed where the villagers naturally go. It's not the villagers who are seeking out the totems, but the player who has put the totems in an area where the villagers like to go.

Thank you! As I was posting this I started thinking that it wasn't really a big deal, just inconvenient since they can't seem to "unstuck" themselves. But if it were the totems then that would be an easy fix.

You have all concurred that the totems are not the problem, so I'll just keep moving them away when they get stuck... and laugh at some of the actions that are stated.

Actually some of the villagers do have favorite villagers, who they prefer to talk to and when that villager dies, they'll go to their Totem Pole instead of chosing someone else.

I move my totems all around the island all the time, just because. It's funny (and kind of sad too) when one villager is coming and I didn't see them coming but I was moving the Totem again, and the villager gets there but when they don't find the totem, they get lonely. (Actually, the same thing happens if it's a live one they're after.)

However, there are certain areas of the island that are definitely glitches. Whenever I see one I'm so tempted to quickly start up Paint because "I've got to get a picture of this one!" ...

Thanks HappyPlayer. That could be what is going one as well as a normal glitch. I've just come to accept that they like that spot and that I have to go and move them away.

This glitch of getting stuck in one place unless they are moved by the Guiding Hand was not a problem in VV1, so I really hope this glitch has been worked out for VV3.

Only the villagers that I have set to doctor get stuck. I have found them stuck trying to get to the red plant in section #3

It's because they go studying this plant and they walk one the way where the villagers get stuck. If a villager takes this way to look at the "antic circle place", they may get stuck as well.

I find them to be funny when they get stuck by the black flowers. They are always doing some form of talking: praising, telling a story, chatting, etc. And they twitch as if they're having some kind of seizure! I had two of them get stuck at the same time, and it was hilarious to see them both stuck, superimposing the hair from the one in the back onto the one in the front. It looked as if a new villager had been created!

It doesn't seem to hurt them any (I'd think they'd have a heart attack with all that twitching!). It just keeps them from working. As long as I check the map every now and then, I can move them fast enough to not make any real impact on their skill levels.

I do hope it's fixed in VV3, but every piece of software will have its glitches (even the coding language will have bugs and anomalies which can affect the resulting software). It doesn't bother me much when it's only an aesthetic problem, as compared to something that negatively affects a person's computer.

You know, they don't stay stuck when you quit the game! We may imagine that they return to their task!!

It's funny that I had just replied to this topic a few minutes ago. I have VV2 up and running in another window. When I switched to VV2 to check on my tribe, I had THREE villagers stuck by the black flowers! Poor things!

Two got to enjoy the pond while one, who hadn't finished all his skills, had to go back to fix a hut.

Lawrence- I paid attention and DID notice that atleast one of the stuck villagers was a healer. So... now I just check frequently and try to rescue them from eternal twitching.

Complexity, your right! It isn't hurting my computer, so it really isn't too big of a deal. It just seemed as if (for a few days) it was messing the village up since it was so many of them stuck so frequently.

Chances are, since I usually put set my elders to healing as a break for such hard work they put in, that they now have died and no longer are creating the havoc. May they RIP!

Not only do mine get stuck on the vines but they also get stuck on the roof of the top hut, the door of the second hut and the middle of the hospital. The door is the funniest because they look like they are hanging from a nail.

I got mines stuck in the hospital an event got a lot of them sick, so I put them in the hospital. A few got stuck by the placew where the roof meets the vine thing that holds it up. Then they start twicthing.
