I've maxed out my population, I have a golden child, I've gotten all the tech levels and can't solve puzzle 12. I've decided it has something to do with building but don't have any builders and can't seem to train any.

Is it time to start over?

The only way to train builders at that point in the game is to wait for an Island Event (a storm that washes more debris onto the beach). It will take multiple events to reach master builder, but I know of several people who have successfully trained another master builder that way and completed puzzle 12!

Thank you, I don't want to start over, I've gotten fond of them and they are living a stress free life:-). I'll keep playing this game a while longer.

Does the Golden Child ever grow up past 5?

The Golden Child stays 5 years old forever. If he grew up, you might try to take advantage of those special powers and put him to work!

I am very annoyed with your direction for help with puzzle 12. I have gotten not where. I have look at all the suggested sites. I have taken an Master Builder to the west and everywhere around the village. I have also taken Master of the other areas around and nothing. I am done with the game except for puzzle 12. I just want to finish it.

Are you actually dropping him in the area suggested... you actually have to put him down.. not just loft him over it

There's also a cheat on the Forum and once I found that, I was able to solve puzzle 12. It was tough! I love it!
