Everyone probably knows this... but this is only for people who just started playing *and want to get hints to get masters cough cough*

As many of you should know (I'd be concerned if you didn't) a master is a person that is reeeeely reeeeely good at something. And you should know that dead people can not contribute in any way, except for a puzzle. It would be reaaaly reeely hard for a dead person to farm.

For a master parent; at the beginning of the game, when you cannot make a higher population, just keep on putting people together till everyone is a master parent. You might have to get some food at the beginning. I know this might be obvious to everyone, but still... usually a runner should be a master builder, just keep on checking and fixing huts (which everyone should know by now). Keep on restarting the game if you do not have a runner to start with. To get a master doctor, put someone over a dead persons body and keep on doing so. Eventually, the person will be master doctor. A master scientist take a looong time. You really cant do anything about it except get a person who likes research... and for farming, you should have a runner too. So a runner would be a farmer and a builder.

Deplete supplies? I don't really understand. Could you explain?

What they mean is that when you have a runner as a farmer, your food supply runs out faster.

Why?

Because they can take more trips and use it up faster.

If it takes a 'normal' farmer an hour (say) to harvest the crops, a runner will probably do the job in half the time. You'll then have a long wait until they grow again. Once the villagers learn to fish, of course, the runner is especially useful as the fish don't run out.
