I am currently playing the game on Med Difficulty. I played in on Low with no problems and was able to solve the puzzles. Right now, I have been playing for 50 hours with encountering any Island events. Has anyone else had the same problem? I figured I should have had a typhoon or a whale by now. I am just wondering if this is a bug or my PDA is just lame.

The Island Events are totally random, and there are behind-the-scenes reasons that you wouldn't see any for an extended period. For example, if an Island Event queues up and needs certain conditions that don't exist (like the presence of a child or other specific "target" conditions), it will secretly abort and you won't ever see it.

I've gone more than 50 hours without any random events. But other times, I couldn't STOP them from coming. It really depends all on the game.

Some games are random-event downpour ... others are like a random-even desert.

I think there was an early thread on this forum that listed all of the possible events.

Do all island events have positive/negative outcomes? I've had one good thing and one bad thing come out of a crate that washed ashore. I've had other events that have maimed or killed my islanders. Is it just luck of the draw whether the event will be good or bad?

The Island Events that occur are random, but the choices and outcomes are fixed for each Island Event. Some Island Events don't have a positive outcome, some have only positive outcomes. Ya just never know until you choose!
