To be honest, I'm not really into the goddess thing, I think the Guidling Hand more like angels, for they are limited as well. How many times have times happen in the game we can't stop? I think of Arthur as Creator (and no Arthur, while I love you, I will not bow down in wroship )and we the "watchers" (another name for the angels. In fact, acoording to many sources site the "fallen angels" of the Torah as the model of the greek gods and goddesses. But I do love the Greek Myths and decided since this is friction, I would have a little fun. Until I find something that is closer to my personality. But Ilanna is cute Now if I find a Arabian beauty with a Arabian Nights theme...

I Noticed That You Made On TheDollPalace. Very Pretty Thanks. A friend told me about the site. I know, I'm 50, but I still love dolls. It was while visiting the site that I got the idea of What my Isloa "Watcher" would look like. Now my Villiage people really feel like Someone is Watching over them.

Oh, your new Avi is gorgeous! I have yet to dream one up as my own. I do have several ideas "cooking"...Is Ianna holding a spindle or distaff in her hand? I seem to recall reading somewhere that someones' hobby is weaving?

I seem to recall reading somewhere that someones' hobby is weaving? It has been called by both names. It is used to measure one's 'life' and once measured out, cut off. I don't remember if I listed weaving as one of my hobbies, but I do love to weave. Though right now, I don't have the space.

And another connection with the Greek legends! The three Fates, or Moirae, were the personifications of destiny. They wore white robes, and their names were Clotho, Lachesis, and Atropos. Clotho (literally "spinner") spun the thread of life from her distaff onto her spindle. Lachesis would measure the thread of life, and Atropos would cut it off (decide when it was time for someone to die).
Apart from the fact that the Greeks usually depicted her as an old hag, Ianna looks very much like Clotho.
The Romans and the Norse peoples also had sets of three very similar goddesses, the Fata and the Norns.

I remember reading that book many years ago. Alas, I can't remember anything about it now, other than it was part of the Incarnations of Immortality series.
They have special meaning to me since Keith Emerson, keyboards player in my favourite 1970s rock band, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, wrote a piece in three parts called The Three Fates - the parts being called, of course, Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. It appeared on their first album.

Emerson, Lake and Palmer...Ah yes...I remember them and the score

I adore Arthur, I just have give him a hard from time to time. And I can assure you as long as there is a VV and they let me keep writing stories and you wonderful people keep reading, I will keep writing. Though I must confess, my husband comes home from Iraq next week for two weeks. So my aim is to tie up all the stories now. I am hoping when I get back, VV3 will be ready for release. (That will be May; hint, hint...)
