But he will absolutely NOT learn building. I stuck him on the hut, I stuck him on the dam, (repeatedly) for about 30 minutes each time. His builder "bar" hasn't gone up even a little bit. So, I put him on Research. Three tries, and he got it. Then I put him on Farming. Again, just a few tries, and no problems. Why will my little villager not build?

Well, maybe he just won't. Sometimes a villager will just not perform a task.

Villagers have personality characteristics that you can't see (beyond their likes and dislikes). He probably isn't fond of the construction trade.

I wish that I could "add" likes and dislikes to my villagers as I get to know them. So that I could keep track you know?

I agree, Julie. It would be nice if I could "add" building to my villager's dislikes so that I can remember he's the one who just *won't* do it.

Maybe they could put that in VV3.
