I know this might be a tad late but there is another way (no cheats) that you can get their parenting skills up high (esp. if you are trying for the esteemed elder) just take 2 villagers of both sexes and just keep making them kiss, if you do it fast enough it will work, it still takes a little bit BUT it is a lot faster than the traditional way of waiting. its alot easier (i noticed that females 50+ cannot have children anymore and its a lot easier with them)

Yes indeedy! And I have great fun doing this. I usually wind up with them moving up the map while stirring up dust and catching unsuspecting villagers that walk by in the kissing storm. It's hilarous because someone takes off running or if they are kids, you're kissing the adults and their voices then you hear 'hehehehehe'

OH and the funniest thing was when I had them kissing on the beach and suddenly the woman disappeared. I panicked for a moment, thinking she was gone for good (too much of a good thing!) and found she was on her knees examining hut.

Hmm, I remember grabbing 2 male villagers by accident and it didn't let them 'get' together. If you want to do speed kissing to get a master parent take a woman older than 50 and the male you want to make an elder or vice versa (Except you don't need the male over 50 ) this way she wont get pregnant by accident

take a woman over 50 and just have her speed kiss. That's how I do it. It takes a long time, but it works.

I remember, I was trying to get an elder and I had an adept parent, and I kept speed kissing, and then the totem just popped up right there it was scary.
