Has anyone else found, eithr at this forum or another, that light-weight fodder gets the most responsebut when a comment or question is posed, which is really provocative - something with a little heft to it - users, I don't know, resent it or don't know what to do.

I was perceiving it as cliquish behavior, but I think it's something deeper than that.

As I sit here & see 30 responses to "what color fish is your favorite" and the ilk, I realize why I dislike forums. I bid a fond adeiu.

Good luck to all the great CHILDREN, for they are the most welcoming and the most talented, as a matter of fact! It was fun to read all of their brilliant stories. I am glad there are places like this for them!

What is the reason you dislike forums?

I think that the bigger questions are not the sort of things that just any person can answer... and for some, it's just simpler to answer the silly stuff instead. They don't know the answer, but they don't want to just post a worthless response.
Well, if you feel you must leave, I can't change it, and I will bid you adieu as well.

Thats funny Tara because ive seen you post a different response for every coment anybody makes it seems like you were just trying to build up your amount of posts which to me is even more immatue than asking what color your favoriate fish is...

I too regret that you were unsettled by your experiences here.
Speaking for myself and those of my ilk, we try to keep this a fun, light and safe place for children of all ages.
When off topic's returns (sometime after the release of VV3) you will find that there are indeed many questions/topics that appeal more to the adults in the forums.
Regretably, these do require much more supervision by the forum moderators, so that section is temporarily closed until they can devote more time to it.
I'm sorry to see you go, but know that you are welcome back at anytime you choose to return. As my friend Laurence would say:

I'm sorry you're leaving Tara. But what is so bad about asking what color your favorite fish is? Maybe people are curious about what other people think, and like Krystal said, people don't want to make a useless response to a more serious question.

We will miss you. I do hope you change your mind.

It sounded to me like you think that the only people who chat or post here are children. But the truth is that these past few days since you've registered just happened to fall on Spring Break (the end for some, the beginning of it for others). If you check out the polls where we were asked our age range, you'll find that there's a good balance between young people and adults.

I'm sure that I'm not just speaking for just myself when I say that forums like these help ease the high stresses of life (for both the older and the younger). That's not to say that we never answer the heftier questions, but more that we're often here to find an outlet that's fun, like answering the simple little questions.

Anyway, I am sorry if I've overlooked yours or anyone else's serious or thought provoking questions. Personally, I don't resent any of them. But honestly, I had been here reading for a whole year before I decided to post anything. ALL the people here are wonderful! And I love the fact that I can be myself, and that I don't have to take anything here too seriously unless I want to.

At the time of her departure 1:29 PM less than two hours later; no one responded/replied to her post. Rockmower did make a response at 4:12 PM. I think she was disappointed that her most did not get a lot of attention and she was making a point of the favorite color post.

Tara needs to realize that many of the players have lives. Some of the forum regulars go to school during the day, some actually are older and have jobs; and then, there are some who are on a completely different continent, time zone and possibly a different day.

Hopefully, Tara is still reading the forums and will reconsider.

So sorry Tara, but I don't understand what you find so disagreeable.
This IS the BEST game forum I've come across. Okay so sometimes we pursue nonsense subjects to pass the time. But I belong to another game forum where most of the time you are ignored, and it has less to do with people not knowing your answer and more to do with they just can't be bothered.
I love to come here because people are so willing to help you, or just add their encouragement or sympathy to your problem, and because the LDW folks are SO nice to let us have SO much freedom. I am sorry you decided to leave, but I don't think you're going to have any better luck elsewhere.

Frankly, coming here has been one of the tings that has kept my sanity while my husband is serving in Iraq. I am so thankful for the support and even love I have felt here.

I am here to bid you a fair adieu. I know I can't change your mind. If I had the choice, I would love for you to stay and chat in the forums. But it is your decision and I won't try to change your mind. I never really got to know you, and I regret that.

Tara's mind seems made up, and nobody but her can fix that. So if I can't change it, I wish her a fond farewell and hope that she will find what she wants.

It is kind of ironic. In a topic about beta testing, TaraMAdams said that she was having lots of fun here. Has anyone besides me noticed this?

I'm sorry that you think it's best to leave Tara, but I sincerely hope the forums don't change. It's so nice to have a "home" to come to where everyone's nice and nobody takes offense because I'm having a bad day.

99.9% of the people here are respectful, kind and interested in everyone. They took me in even though I'm 50 years old. Sometimes, I think it's how people write that determines the answers people make or don't make. Sometimes when I think I've been hilarious, others don't comment. The key is not taking offense because certainly none is meant. Just keep on making posts and it will all be fine.
