I think it takes away from the achievement of finding collections to have them pick up collections automatically. I think that they should pick up mushrooms as they walk by though. Maybe it can flash the child's name w/ a message that they see something interesting: "Coco sees an interesting object!" Then you can find "Coco"
I like the idea of having more options for skills - hunter, farmer, parent, scientist, doctor...maybe some other options, like medicine man or magician.
I also like the idea of having more options for our villagers. Not only a sewing hut, but also if you can change their looks. This way, you can make them LIKE people you know and change their names. Also if you don't like the mohawk guy or the bald guy or the coconut head guy, you can change it.
I like the idea of having pets - like you can train pets to hunt for certain things. And certain wildlife you can collect to produce food. Like maybe boars or wild chicken that you can domesticate and produce food. Much like you would have to drag and drop a villager to learn skills several times, maybe you'd have to train boars, chickens, wild dogs/cats to become domesticated. Then they can work WITH your village. If they are still wild animals, then they can do little damage here and there, like tear down a fence or something that would make your villager acquire points in farming, building. Maybe even when the animal gets hungry, he/she starts acting up so you would have to be at a certain level of farming to domesticate animals.
