After you build the dam, are you able to construct the area for producing crops?

After the crops are in place, how long does it take for the crops to start producing food?

That depends on your game speed. On 2X they appear half an hour after the dam is finished. Slower speeds take the relative amount of time longer.

In 1/2 speed they appear 99 minutes after the dam is finished! \:\)

if you put the click on the garden it tells you how exactly how many minutes till new crops...
