Yeah. Why don't we wait to see what they put in VV3 before suggesting anything for VV4? They're still working on VV3, which is why they still have that thread for suggestions for the game.

I would like to see VV3 before I make any suggestions for the fourth one. You never know, they might just have some of those things in VV3 already, or maybe not. Let's play the third game first and see.

I'ts good to see someone keen on the next generation VV game. But, we haven't seen VV3 yet. I'm sure we would have a better insight as to what we want, once it's out. But her's mine anyway. Benches for the nursing mums and a park with animals in it for relaxing. It would be sad to go off the tracks of the original VV game. They did that with The Age of Empires games. The first three were great, the next one , killed it. So I only play the older ones now.

I agree, Jazzo. Arrays like that are a programmer's nightmare. Although LDW won't talk about programming limitations like this, I'm sure that's at least part of the reason for the limit of 50 gravestones and Elders, and why the parents' images and names are only shown for villagers under 18 and 14.

I second that - my laptop can barely handle the graphics part of VV2 once I get above 25-30 villagers... with a giant family tree array, the later part of the game could well be unplayable on an older machine like mine. I suppose the family tree array could be written to an output file that is updated as the game progresses (so the in-game array is limited to current children as it is now) - if you want to see the family tree, the game pauses and then opens the output file to display. But after a while that would be completely unreadable anyway. I'd rather have a VV3 that can be played on slightly older hardware than a VV3 with tons of bells and whistles that requires a top of the line system. JMHO

Well I don't think they should have hens and chickens and things because its a TROPICAL island Chickens originated in India. That's tropical enough for me. If they add hunting, it would be a great way of adding livestock. I'd like to see farming give you a mini garden where you can select what you want to grow, which in turn adds to the cooking aspect of the game. I'd like to see the VV series become more of an ecology sim where the goal is to achieve a balanced, healthy village. I'd like to see mini games related to common activities that add more playability to the game. Gaining tech should open up new kinds of game play, not just a quick two minute cheer. I'd like: 1) a garden sim where we have to select what produce to grow and protect it from animals and bugs(A fishing mini game might also be a good idea). Maintaining a balanced diet should be importaint to keeping villagers healthy and make doctors more useful. 2) Sewing could easily be a crafting mini game where you have to generate new patterns/colors for outfits and sew them together. I can also see adding a mini game for changing hair styles, creating pottery, or making tools for the villagers. 3) If livestock is introduced I could see a minigame with the children herding livestock. Children are so active, they really need more than just foraging. Additionally, it would be interesting to have each save in the game act as a separate "village" and allow villagers from one "village" to visit or live at another.

Hello. What a fine afternoon this is!
I do not like the unnatural hair, but I understand that LDW does. I have come up with a compromise that I think will make everyone happy. Virtual Villagers should do what the people do in Europe and highlight their hair. I think that would be cool.
I want to thank LDW for reading my post.

I would also like a way to tell how many years have gone by in Virtual Villager time. I have one tribe that is ancient.

I would also like a way to tell how many years have gone by in Virtual Villager time. Yes! So would I. I generally play VV2 at half speed at first, then at 2 X speed, then, once the puzzles have been completed, at normal speed. That means there's no real connection between the number of hours played in the stats and the years passed for the villagers.

I personally will not reserve comments until VV3 comes out. The game is already 95% complete, so it is sort of a waste. Now, we can start fresh and it is an excellent time to come up with big ideas. By the way, will there even be a VV4? I sure hope there will! Also, This forum really needs a spoiler tag. When I looked at a screenshot of VV1, I saw a villager with a pretty tie-die dress. I hope that they bring it back.

I would like there to be more male-version/female versions of the names. Example: Akiko, Akika.

I really like the pony-tail guy in VV2. I would like it if there was a blond pony-tail guy and a black haired pony tail guy. My favorite VV 3 characters are the readheaded males, and the blonde females.♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I like the redheads, but I don't like the ones with hair that is blood-red. I hope that VV3 doesn't have blood red. Really, redheads actually have orange hair.

I do not pay much attention to all those celebrities and stuff. My hair has a reddish tint, moreso in summer. But I will not smack anyone with a slate. And does Anne Shirley actually have red hair as in the color as blood, or cherries, or wine, and so on?

Yes, I know that carrots are orange!!! I should have said that she had very red/orange hair. She was extremely sensitive about it, but thankfully her hair evened out to auburn when she got older. The way I think of her... I picture her with hair sort of like Girl 19.

Okay, I have 5 fresh ideas for heads in VV4. 1. Guy with Samurai pony-tail. 2. Girl with the hairstyle that women had in feudal Japan. 3. Girl with braids. 4. Guy with one side of his head bald, the other side long, like the Native Americans that were in Jamestown. 5. Guy with feathers in his hair. And am I the only one who ever posts in this topic?

...(And there's already a guy with a ponytail and a girl with braids. ) I know, but I said a guy with a Samurai pony tail. And for the braids, I know about that one brown-haired girl, but I'm talking about braids that are the kind that the Native Americans had.

I propose a name contest. I am coming to like the Island names and I want to see those continue, but I also like to have tribes with clever names, such as naming a boy Tyde or a girl with red hair Titia. And once I did a tribe with silly pretentious names like Heathcliff and Eglantine. Wouldn't it be fairly simple to make names an option similar to choosing the music or hardness fo a game? And everyone could make suggestions.
