Is there a way to increase the size of the text and make my little villagers bigger? I would love to be able to see their actions and read the text better. I find myself playing late into the night with tired eyes.

There really aren't any settings to make the graphical and text elements of the game bigger. Sometimes, when I want to get a good look at things (especially the villagers, to see all of the detail), I'll get out my trusty magnifying glass. That's about the only thing I can suggest that would make things "bigger" and easier on your eyes.
