I keep running out of fish, and having to restart the game. I cant get any money and I have never found a magic fish. I am horrible at this game.

I could give you some pointers that are guaranteed to help you get going! It's not so much a matter of sucking at the game as it is getting the hang of it!

Here's a step by step guide to get started successfully in Fish Tycoon. It's by no means the only way to succeed, but it definitely works!

Drop the starter eggs into Tank 1. Go to the supplies area and buy some common eggs for $160. Drop them into Tank 1 and wait for them to hatch. If you want them to grow up quickly, you can set the game speed to fast, but you'll have to check your fish often to make sure that they are fed. They will grow up in less than 2 hours.

Once they are adults, try to find two fish EXACTLY the same. You can always breed them successfully. Their babies will not lose health and die. If you can't find two fish exactly alike, choose two fish that are very similar (the same type of fish - for example Spotanus or Beta). If you breed these, even though their fins might be different, they will probably live to be adults. If you don't get any fish similar enough to breed successfully, you can always start a new game and try again. It's important not to rely on cross breeding fragile species early in the game, because the babies will die. There are some cross-breeds that will live at least long enough to sell, and you can try to breed some of those, but be prepared for some dead babies along the way.

If any of your fish get sick early in the game, you should probably not spend money on medicine until you have extra money. Once your new fish are grown up, you should move them to the selling tank (Tank $), and click the Sell Fish button. You will see the store screen. When a customer buys one of your fish the species, picture and price of that fish will be displayed in the information area below the store.

Keep breeding fish as described above until you have enough money to buy a second tank. Tank 2 will give you more room to breed fish and you will make money faster. Drag some of your fish to Tank 2 and keep breeding the same fish to make enough money to research tank improvements.

Remember to keep making money by breeding fish and selling them. Once you have made enough money to research Fish Environment, you will be able to breed more expensive species of fish.

Gamerfreak, DON'T GIVE UP!!!!! I did the same thing until I got the hang of it. Don't follow the "help" instructions that prompt you to buy certain things first....you make your own decisions about what to purchase. Once you start making money and are able to breed exotic fish, you'll LOVE this game!!!!!!! I just spent the past few months playing it almost exclusively. I found all the magic fish, but I haven't stopped the game. I just keep selling them and breeding new ones. It is a beautiful game and now (for me) is as relaxing as having a beautiful fish tank (portable to take with me wherever I go!!!)I love how responsive my little fishy pets are to me!!! Good luck!

Gamefreak,It happens to everybody the first time they play so dont get disapointed.

Yeah, man. I get kinda depressed when I check on my fish and there's a ton of dead babies on the bottom. I feel like a bad mother! I had some Oriental Swoopers for a hot second, and then I apparently overfed them and I saw them die right before my eyes -- trippy! But don't give up! I just found a magic fish, and have made enough dough to buy all the equipment. I highly suggest finding a breed or two that are highly profitable (I am living off the Hornet Goldbulbs at the moment) and exploit the heck out of them until you have money to advance your environment.

Aside from that, don't worry about winning. Just have fun!
