One big thing I've noticed -- Illnesses and "bad" events happen if you haven't checked up on and kept the fire going. When I remember to stoke the fire at least once a day, before it has a chance to run out, I never have a problem. Several times though, when I didn't get to it in time, and a day goes by (even on 1/2 time) without the fire being lit, the event that comes up involves some kind of tragedy, like a flock of parrots attacking, or a mysterious whatever washing up on shore and making villagers sick.

Not the best recommended way to have your villagers learn about healing and training your doctors LOL.

Certainly the fire keeps the villagers more healthy. I don't think bad events are any more frequent, though. Events are random.

Yes it keeps the villagers more healthy, that's sure!!
And, if you look at the Log file, you can see time to time: "Fire assisted researchers. Extra point gained." (there is candles on the research table). So I suppose it helps at the research!

Yep up with fire down with...no fire!

I keep the fire burning all the time and I get good and bad events randomly.
