I looked through posts and found where a gc had died as a child after solving the 11th puzzle. Mine, however, appears to have died as an infant. The gc birth and a typhoon happened at the same time when I turned on my Palm the other day, so I found no food, lots of weakened villagers, and about 12 dead bodies.

Shortly thereafter, there were no nursing mothers, more dead, and not nearly enough graves to cover them all. And there is no GC in my villagers detail. Is my game over?? It's been 2 days since this happened, and now there's plenty of food, and everybody's bored again and population has been bred back to capacity (out of their sheer boredom, I suppose).

(And on a related, but separate note, this is not the first time I've had a villager die with no grave. I had an elderly villager disappear overnight leaving no grave and not being counted in the death toll, but no longer appearing in the details, either. She just vanished.)

well, the good news is that you really don't NEED your GC anymore if he has solved puzzle #11. Puzzle #12 doesn't have anything to do with him. If you would like further help with this check here: help with puzzles


As for the death of your Golden child.... they are supposed to be invincable, but there seems to be events that happen that will hurt him. For instance if they get sick, you might not know because his status says Golden Child not "sick". Looks like the typhoon can hurt him as well!

Unfortunately, he died before solving the 11th puzzle. (And as this is the first time I've made it this far I don't know yet what the 11th puzzle is, and don't want to know!) I've solved puzzles 1-10, and have 2 left, and my gc died a babe in arms. I try to avoid any forum topic that might possibly spoil the discoveries for me, but I went looking at the spoilers when the babe died.

It's left me feeling a little defeated. My first village died in about 16 hours, due to me not managing resources well. I've been slowly enjoying this one for over 2 weeks, and now I just feel like it fell apart on me.

Don't trash your game yet, there are people that can help you restore your game to before the GC died. (if all goes well). There is another thread regarding the death of the GC that might interest you.
GC dies

You can PM Ladycfii directly, and she can walk you through how to restore your game. Make sure you are registered on the forum so that the Private Message feature will work.

Unfortunately, you can't finish the game without your golden child!
