Why not try something new? Link VV3 to a hot spot that acts to a shortcut to play another game? Like Plant Tycoon, Fish Tycoon,
Or any game that can be a mini-game for the villagers so their lives aren't just mundane work and little time for investment in the world of their own making?

My biggest beef is that these people need to learn about hygiene. Who in their right mind would gather drinking water from the same place that women are bathing babies? Worse, changing diapers right next to the stew pot. Yeeach! Get that filth outa my kitchen! I wonder how much fecal matter these characters eat from such practices. You provide a separate toilet area, the village center should NOT be a changing station. Consider the possibility of disease epidemic spread from one sick infant because mommy changed baby in the middle of a heavily populated area.

And why include the "nature calls" at all? Is this a misplaced attempt at "realism"? . . . When only under-age children go potty (plus a few adults who eat the wrong stew)? Boy the rest of the population is severely constipated! But seriously, I don't find the toilet issues appealing or appropriate.

I agree with the comments regarding insuficient experience for mothering. It's way off-balance for a lady to get the same experience for two years of child-rearing as her mate got for his two-minute fling in the hay! Give moms two years' experience for two years' work. And the person who remarked that the men do all the work while the moms just sit around has obviously never tried to be the primary care-giver for an infant! That sexist comment was offensive and in my opinion should be deleted from the board!

Lastly, when I set my villagers to "parenting" I don't expect them to run off and make whoopie. If that's the sort of behavior you really want to encourage, then you need to come up with a different term. In the first game, I believe you called it "breeding" -- much more appropriate for that activity. But when I chose "parenting" I expected rather that they would contribute to the education and up-bringing of the youngsters. Instead of "going indoors" they should be "teaching children." When I want them to produce more babies, I prefer to use the pick-em-up method to choose a specific mate rather than send them out en masse all to the same poor young female, as so often happens. (Ya know, they have names for girls like that -- not nice ones either.)

I agree the aspect of nursing moms not being able to work for two years is "Unrealistic" but I think it was done to make the game more challenging. Of course, I do not speak for LDW. \:\)

I dress all my Esteemed Elders in White, once I get my sewing hut. I hate to see them die, especially the ones that I get attached to. I would like to see some hobbling on canes and the elders reach at least 80-85. I have gotten them to 78, maybe 79, but not further than that. I have no problem getting my villagers to Master Parent, both female and males. I like all of the above suggestions too. Kids need a school. VV! had a school built, but the kids never went and it didn't have a teacher. This would have to be in the beginning since the only ones that have any education are the original villagers that start the village. Everyone else is born there so they have had no outside contact.

I, and others, have repeatedly suggested differant levels of puzzles in the new game. Now, I'm ready to make some suggestions on what they should be. Of course, I don't know but assume you'll have 16 or so original puzzles like in VV1 that essentially make it possible for the tribe to live & find some enjoyment on the island.
Level 2 should be improving life such as stone huts instead of grass/stick dwellings. Researching and developing sanitation etc and enriching life (maybe limited commerce amongst the villagers?).
Level 3 could be something like exploration i.e. learning to make maps; build boats etc to "explore" the rest of Isola and maybe create trade with vv1 & vv2 tribes.
Let me know what you think.

p.s. my own programming skills died back in the days of DOS Basic (I realize most of the players here weren't even born back then). And, quite frankly, I'm too blinkin old and cantankerous to learn how to program in this environment. Still it'd be swell if one of you young programmer types could figure out an upgrade that would add new puzzles for VV1 & VV2. I suspect people such as myself would not only be grateful, but would probably be willing to pay a small sum for such an upgrade.
