Okay, so here are my two cents. I love this game, it's addicting and contagious (I showed my friends and family and now they come over all the time to play w/ their own little village).
Suggestions:
1. More save your village spots - as from my statement above, I don't have enough saves for all my friends ... I ended up having to delete my village once I finished so one of my friends could have a go. This was such a sad moment because I obviously lost my little original villager's headstones. PLEASE make more save spots!!! Thanx.
2. More little things - what I mean is, once you've finished all the big tasks your game is over, your original people are dead and then what, what's keeping your interest...it just sits there unplayed. Don't get me wrong, I go back and check on the villages, and it is fun for me to watch and help my friends manage their villages for the first time, however I would like more after the fact tasks. This was seen in VV2 w/ the stone, shell, butterfly, and _bug_ collecting ... it just wasn't enough (at least not for us) plus the fact that not one of us has collected them all. I had been the closest w/ 1 _bug_ and 2 stones left to find, but my friend accidentally deleted my village. It takes to long to collect the rare items and we lost interest in that part of the game (it was our favorite and least favorite) once my almost finished collection was gone. There has to be a happy medium.
3. Deleting a village - I know there are prompts that are supposed to keep accidental deletion from happening, but delete it did, and right before our eyes. She meant to hit the play button, but got the delete button instead, and before I could stop her she clicked yes to the prompt w/ out reading it. We both sat there and cried for a good 10 minutes. Is there any way that you could separate the buttons? Have the set up go something like this "PLAY" Village Name "DELETE". That way, there will be even less chance of hitting the wrong button.
4. Mommy duty - I agree, w/ a lot of other posts, that the moms should get more experience points. Also to help keep kids out of the way and yet always easily grabable, have the mothers do story time, nap time, play time, teach time...something that keeps them visible but out of the way and in one place. This could count for the mothers Parent skills. I also think that this should increase the skill level of children, since they are "Learning" from an adult. I miss the kid calling drum.
5. Are we there yet skills - I must say that one of the most frustrating parts of the game is when you are waiting for a villager to become more skilled. They look like they should be a master but yet they aren't. I would like to see sections to the skill-o-meter...like an hourglass on it's side. One bulb is for one level, and when it tapers down you are getting close to the next level.
6. Village in style - I admit that I am sometimes a vain person, and yes I will restart a game until I have only one "ugly" villager, because I can't get rid of them all. I'd like to be able to pick which villagers we will start out with. Hair, clothes, body, M-F ratio. I wonder about how many people ended up with the almost all male village? I did, and it was ridiculous. I had 2 females, one was 7, and the other was my already skilled builder...then I get "lets make a baby" before I knew she was my builder {groan} 2 years wasted. About the clothes, I liked the idea of the clothes hut, but it was not very practical for me. By the time it's built I am already so used to the people by their original clothes, that changing them throws me off.
7. Totem Terror - I at one point made the mistake of trying to get all of my villagers to elder status because I wanted to know what all the totems looked like. I had 20 totems - literally - and no place to put them. They blocked everything, and I'm sure I missed out on lots of collection items because I couldn't see around them. How about a special totem area. Where all the totems can be collected as a set. If there are 7 totem styles, have a chunk of rock that can be carved like the idol w/ 7 notches, and the totem will automatically go there. No duplicates, or cluttered village. Then on the villager info page have a spot for that particular persons totem. The totem monument should be in the same area as the tombstones.
8. And you are - okay, how many of you forgot what a villager looked like after they were dead? I know I have. It's cool to see the tombstone sayings, age and ultimate skill level, but how about when you click on a headstone, an info page pops up with a picture of that dead villager (when they were alive of course) as well as the other stuff.
9. How many more - games are there going to be. As I see it now, you have the opportunity to make a total of 5 villages. North, South*, East, West*, and Center of Isola Island. I personally would like to see at least 6 or 7 villages. The 6th would be a floating village hovering above Isola. The original inhabitants grew so smart that they cut a part of Isola and made it hover in the sky. You'd still have the beach type setting, only instead of water it would be blue sky and white fluffy clouds. ***And adjusting to the new atmosphere could make your villagers a little out of sorts - thus the unskilled villagers.*** The 7th village could have been (before abandoned) comprised of people who were afraid of heights, so they made a city under the water. Sort of like Atlantis. We already had the stew for breathing under water, so that could be how they get to this Atlantis village...from an underwater cave that leads to an air pocketed bit of land hidden under the water, thus still being able to keep that beach theme that we all know, love, and expect to see. What could there light source be you ask...glowing bugs, and/or stones, that the kids would have to keep finding. * = Parts of the island we have already been to.
10. Tag you're it - oh how cute that was in the preview, but I was very disappointed when we could not start the game of tag. I think it would be fun to drop one kid on another and have them start a game of tag...instead of "this villager is too young, etc."
11. Food sources - have one of the building levels be setting a trap (non-lethal) that can catch a wild chicken from a specific part of the island. The builders wouldn't know about it until they fixed the already there but broken chicken coupe. The coupe should have at least 3 hen nests that are empty until you catch a chicken. Each trip to the chicken coupe equals one basket of 3 eggs. This will be like the berry bush, vegetable garden and coconut trees. Hens don't lay eggs constantly, they will need time to rest before more eggs can be gathered.
Um...so...yeah, that was a lot more than 2 cents, and if you stuck w/ me _ :::HUGS::: _ and to LDW, I'm available for consulting on new games (teehee), I've got plenty of ideas. I hope that my suggestions and ideas were helpful.
