when i first played FT , i made a newbie mistake! , i thought that the items on the top left are the ones you should buy, so i bought a batch of eggs LOLZ i realized my loss just now, now my question is, if you buy eggs and you already had one, will it combine?

No, you will lose the eggs you already had. The message in the shop asks you if you want to replace the item when you try to purchase something you already have. Most people don't catch that, because it looks a lot like the message that asks if you're sure you want to buy it.

I've got caught that way a couple of times, too! Even now, after playing the game regularly for some months, I'll sometimes find a fish with perhaps an Ick infection, buy a new can to replace the Fungus treatment I have already, then look in another tank and find another fish with Fungus!

I know you should always check all the tanks before making a purchase.

I've always found it frustrating having to "trash" perfectly good chems when you buy new ones anyway. I wish it was a bit more like plant tycoon where you have a choice of any 5 different chems at a time, makes far more sense. I guess fish tycoon came 1st and plant tycoon improved on the original. I don't suppose there are any plans to upgrade the program now so guess we are stuck with it. still love the game though, so it can't be all bad

I always dump my leftover meds into the tanks before I buy a new one. That way I don't feel like I wasted it. I don't know if it actually affects anything in the game.
