Hi, I'm new here-just got the game this week.

I'm plyaing VV1 and I was wondering if there was any way to train a healer, aside from having sick people around? I can't bring myself to wish my little villagers would get sick just so Bobo can get some skill!

Thanks

SPOILER: mouseover to read:
Drop your healer on one of the 'stange plants' that appear at the sides and top of the village area. He will start 'studying strange plant'. If successful he will gain some healing skill.
END SPOILER

If you take your healer exploring up near the cave, you should see a place that will help. Watch for messages that indicate what the villager sees. You can get many clues to the game by watching what the villagers are curious about, as well. \:\)

Thanks!

If I may, two more questions...

1) I see "runner" mentioned a lot here. What is a runner?

2) Also, is there any benefit to putting the game on 2X speed?

You also may put a villager, even a kid, on the sick one
and he could heal him but you'll have to insist!
A runner is a villager who has "running" in his "likes" bar. He does everything in running (and often bang the hut!! \:D ) For some tasks, it's really helpful because he does everythings more quickly than the others!

A 'runner' is a person who has that as a born ability or goes through a certain special event. They are awesome because they do everything at twice the speed except age and have children.

The only real benfit to putting 2x speed on is that everything goes faster. Unfortunately the villages also age twice as fast, so you're really just rushing things. Now I did have one time where I had hardly any food, so I put it on 2x until the garden grew. I don't know that it really made a difference or not to the villages though.
