I just started playing Plant Tycoon today, and I wanted to start over, I made some mistakes that I would like to do over. Problem is, now, it's not starting over w/ the lowest level plants. All the plants I made previously are there, and even some I haven't seen! I just want to start from scratch.

I deleted everything I could "search" my comp for under "plant tycoon" and LDW, uninstalled and reinstalled, and still all the plants show up. Can anyone help?

To start the game over, just go to the game's Menu screen and click "Start Over." It's much easier that way.

Thank you for the reply, but that's the problem. When I click start over, the new game has ALL the plants I've already discovered from the game I had played, and some I haven't even seen yet! I wanted to start over from the beginning w/ the lowet level plants, but it's not letting me, and a lot of my plants are dying right off the bat. I've discovered some that take tier 2 soil, but I can't affort it yet.

That's very weird. We have not had reports of anything like that happening before. It sounds like there's a problem with the savegame file(s) and/or their location. Follow the instructions in this post for locating the savegame files, but delete them instead of backing them up. You might also want to search your computer to make sure that there aren't any other Plant Tycoon files in "rogue" locations and delete them, as well. If that doesn't help, you may need to reinstall the game.

Sadly, I tried ALL of that before posting originally. I went through the above post directions and deleted all I could find. I deleted the Plant Tycoon folder that I found on my C drive, and then serched my computer using "Plant Tycoon" AND "LDW" and deleted ALL of those. Then, I uninstalled and reinstalled, and sure enough, all the plants were there.

Yeah, uninstalling doesn't normally wipe our your game file. Try this: Search for a file named Plant Tycoon1.ldw, delete those, and any other similar named ones with different numbers in the name.

Just out of curiosity, where did you buy the game, and what's the exact version number that's displayed on the menu screen? That might have a bearing on the problems you're having.

Thank you for your help Marcey, but that doesn't work. Short of reformatting my hard-drive, I've taken off EVERY single file I could find associated with this game.

I bought it from MSN games. That's where I tried the demo, and then bought it. Version 1.01 is on the menu screen. I was thinking that might be the cause of the problem, but I didn't want to buy it again from somewhere else, only to experience the same difficulties.

MSN, okay all the MSN game files save in C:/Program Files/ MSN Games/(game name). Maybe they'd be there.

Just grasping at straws you know, not that I don't believe you haven't looked there, or that you haven't thought this through. Computers do stupid things sometimes. Did you shut off the pc after you unistalled? Sometimes that effects things too.
Again straws...and I'm running out of them.

As I said, nobody has ever reported that kind of a problem before, and I can't imagine why the game is behaving that way. If all of the savegame files have been deleted, Plant Tycoon should not be able to do anything but start a new game.

We would be happy to replace your game with our own version, at no cost to you. All you need to do is go to our Support FAQ and click "No" on the page that I linked you to. Please provide your full name, as well as the details of your purchase (date, order number, etc.), as well as a description of the problem as you have described it here, along with the recommendation that you try our version.

I'm surely not able to help but I'm curious! Did you try to play on another "player"?
And could you try demos from LDW or Big Fish Games, for example and test them to see if it does the same things!!
(but you could have some PT folders everywhere in your puter! )
