yes, sad to say, but some one has to die so you can get the GC. It is a sacurfice you have to make. You could stop the food gathering, then you older peps will get weak, sick and die. it is a narrow tight rope to walk, but it will work.

I don't know of any way to spread illness, it just happens. Perhaps you could uncheck all your healers, and keep them away from the sick-bay area. Make them go fishing...  Also, I may be wrong about this, but could it be that the Golden1 doesn't show until you have maxed all tech?
