From the storm in the second picture I'd say they get shipwrecked on the north shore of Isola. Since the game in the first pic has only just been started, they must have found the castle, or fort, or whatever it is, and started to clean it up so they can live in it. All seven villagers (adults) are in view in the screenshot so they don't have any kids right at the start. From the bamboo used to patch holes in the "fort's" walls, and lying on the ground, the builders use that as a material. If they need the shelter of a "fort", does that mean there are dangerous animals or possibly enemy tribes about?

I think your are write about the enemy tribes. Remember we found out in VV2 that the tribe that had been there before had left to seek out the first tribe? What if they came back to that tribe and started attacking them and those seven villagers escaped! Then they were washed ashore on the north part of the island and they found the fort and started to rebuild it in order to stay safe!
