See? I am not encouraging you to download from that and other related sites, its not safe, it could have a virus that will ruin your computer, oh man, your computer is worth more than the LDW games so why take a risk? just BUY it!!

FURTHERMORE, ITS ILLEGAL

It's important for people to understand that the only way we can keep making games is if people actually buy them. LDW is a very tiny company, and making games is how we make our living. If people decide to use illegal methods to get our games for free, we would have to stop making games and find other employment in order to buy food, clothes, and pay the rent.

Besides the games are worth way more than the $20! There is so much time and thought put into them, the attention to detail alone makes it a good buy. Besides what other game company is nice enough to not only give fans a forum, but to also make mods! You're paying for more than just the game people!

It is horrible that ppl do that especially ones who clam they love the game. I love the games VV1 and VV2 but as it is there is absolutely no way I can pay for them so I've never played more then an hour of each lol however I wouldn't download it for free even if I could (this college blocks everything) I like them so much and hope to see many more added to the line of games. I hope to one day be able to afford to buy them but until that day I'll just have to keep getting my fun out of the demos whenever I have to format my comp.

I believe that LDW's games are well worth the price I paid for them, and I'm happy to support LDW by buying their games just as long as they continue to make good quality games.

Life is a struggle, I understand that as well as anybody. I realize there are some out there who can't afford even $20 for the game. Walmart (at least in this area) is selling VV1 for $10 and that's how I originally got started. That's a price that most anybody can afford (hey just skip a coupla burgers w/fries -
it'll be better for your waist line anyway).
$20 may be a little harder to come by, but you know you can recycle cans which will not only raise enough dough to pay for the game, but will also clean up the roadside.
I would do whatever I could to earn those few extra bucks before I stooped to cheating a wonderful company like this out of their VERY hard earned dues!

I agree with everone, it's beond me how anyone can get the games dishonestly. I hope that whoever does it is ridden with guilt. Good luck LDW, I support you!

Robert, you've touched on something I've seen over and over on Yahoo Answers: hundreds of users asking where to get games for free. You can't. It's not safe and it's illegal. I've told them as much (it's one of my copy and paste answers)...but a lot of them get angry if you say anything like that to them. One person even reported me, saying it wasn't an answer to their question.

Let's keep up this battle against illegal games.

If yuo download the full version and don't pay,you will not only be a crimanial,but,standing by what LadyCFII said,you may be putting a few people out of work.

LDW could try sending a cease and desist letter to the registered owner of the web site that is offering LDW products for free.

But if the web site is in Russia, China, or a dozen other such places, this remedy will not work, and there are no other recourses to be tried. Sadly, I am guessing that this is probably the case.

It always amazes me that the LDW games are so affordable. When I think of all the work that goes into these games and the enjoyment that so many get in playing them, I can't believe that anyone would stoop so low as to provide or download illegal copies.

All we can do is type in a protest if we see someone asking for information on links to these illegal sites - and sneak in a plug for LDW while we are at it

If you can't buy it play an online version untill you can! Don't risk it!

If people cant buy the game then save up money but dont get it dishonest that will realy hurt alot of people and then we wouldnt have LDW no more I suport LDW.

I think $10 or $20 for years of fun is a pretty good buy. When funds are low, save up or put the game on your birthday/Christmas list. Maybe people who steal games deserve to get a virus! I know they wouldn't like it if someone stole their work.

I agree with you all! , all the game makers companies , spent such money to create this game for us that we can enjoy , we cannot enjoy it if we are doing illegal things so please every illegal sites that offers to download the full version for free , please stop it , be pity to all the gamemakers company , they do it for living and they are happy if the people enjoy it , the enjoyment of every people with this game makes them happy , unless it is done by illegal purposes , I have visited some other forums that their games are ruined by any person who does illegal activity to offerit to people in an illegal way , so please dont do illegal things , making 20 dollars is from hardwork , LDW is a game company who is a good maker of games , please , if you want to have a game buy and sell products , recycle , and be a hardworking person.

Who would illegally get $20 dollars? The reason is because the people that do so are cold-hearted who only think about themselves. I mean, look how much work these people do; graphics, work on adobeflashCS3, etc. and people just take it for free. That ain't fair. Every single raindrop doesn't think it is responsible for the flood; the raindrops being the heart-less, mean people and the flood being LDW running into bankruptcy and making them lead horrible, horrible lives. Be people, people!

This is a good thread. I agree with everyone and what they have to say. I am a computer geek by profession. I have so many Microsoft certifications I could wallpaper a small office. I know how to get cracks and hacks for almost anything out there. I have been taught by example from my collegues. Yes, most every hack has been compromised and contain viruses. It will cost you so much more to get that virus off your computer than if you just purchased the game in the first place. It may not cost you money. It could cost you the loss of files, pictures, and if you are like me, all my graphic work.

Rockmower has a great idea. Recycle aluminumm cans and bottles. Out here, 6 garden leaf bags of cans yields me about 40-50 dollars and all I had to do is make a special spot and take 2 seconds to crush a can and put it in a bag. It is real easy and it helps the environment too.

As most of you know I have made mods for some of the games here on LDW. My mods are completely new graphics that I have made using various softwares (which I have purchased ) and can say that they are time consuming and take a great deal of thought. You have to consider colors, shading, angles, and size. To make ALL the graphics for one game is quite a bit of work. Then there is the engineering and programming that goes into it. Someone talented (like Arthur) has to program the game. Make the villagers speak when picked up, walk normally from here to there. Pick things up, get colds, kiss... the list goes on and on. Then there is marketing and testing and so much that goes on to make quality games.

Dont steal from this (or any) company. They are actually in business for you. To end my little rant I want to say shame on you [meko2k] for asking such a question and to show such disrespect that you would go to the game makers site to ask that question. Shame on you.

Shame on anyone who downloads hacked and cracked software or gives out information to others to help the vicious cycle continue. Finally I want to thank Robert for catching that SB conversation and making us aware that it happened. Good catch Robert.

I don't understand those who feel they MUST get something for nothing. I have a very limited income, my PC is several years old. I've simply learned to rebudget my money to pay that measley $20. My daughter and I have "Mother/Daughter Days" every month. One day a month, we go out to eat and rent movies. Or whatever. The cost of these times for us is around $30. When a new VV game is coming out, I simply talk to my daughter about it, and we skip that day for that month. She agrees because she loves the games, too.

There's no reason to cheat the makers of these cool games. It's only a $20, for goodness sake!!! If I can make room for it in my tiny budget, why can't they?

I AGREE WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU!!! Why would someone risk their computer just to get a game! If or should I say WHEN you got the virus you could loose many of your games INCLUDING your other VV games!! Don't those people relize that! ITS ONLY $20.00 FOR CRYIN' OUT LOUD!

I do understand some people wanting to get the games for free, being a single mom on a very meager income. BUT I find the money, or get them from Big Fish. The only thing about BF is that you can only run one game at a time, and they put junk on the computer. Personally, I prefer having games on CD's. I have VV1 and FT on CD, it streamlines the 'puter crash and reload. I request CD's. Please.
