I just noticed in one of my villages, the people are dying in their early to mid-seventies. But some of my headstones have ages in the 80's. Is there some way to treat them that helps them live longer? Or is it that I changed the game from easy to hard recently? They have so much food it'd take them 10 yrs to eat it, they passed 50 Elders long ago, so now they can relax a lot, I keep the pop under 50 (don't like seeing the screen so busybusy). So I don't see what I could change to make them healthier. Any ideas?

It might be because you changed the difficulty level, but I can't say for sure because I've never changed that in the middle of a game. I think a lot is just luck. Some villagers are naturally long-lived.

I try to make most of my villagers train as farmers third. Although they can get injured researching and building, farming seems to be much healthier. Once they get to Elder, I'll uncheck the prefernce box and let them do whatever they want.

I do the same as far as deselecting a particular path, but if they are stressing out at say, farming or any other former path, if they DON'T like being deselected, I put them on "Healing" without training ... and in a lot of cases, that keeps their health bar up to maximum. If that doesn't work, I make a healing stew and dose everyone starting with the elderly who have less than a full health bar, and working my way back as far as the stew lasts, all the way to the children. Keeping the villagers happy at what they are doing also seems to help longevity.

My oldest was 97, but I never got to see him/her at that age so I don't know who that was \:\( ... it happened while I was away and the villager passed before I had a chance to actively play the game. While I am actively interacting with the game I see 78 year olds quite frequently. I DO however, always keep my time at 1/2 ... a slower easier pace ... no real need to go faster otherwise, and the elderly don't move very fast ANYWAYS!!

That help any?

These guys are super healthy--health bar full. Nobody does anything except farming & healing, & I have 5 active healers. They're in the pool a lot, or strolling on the beach. I don't put anyone on breeding, I like to have only 2 or 3 kids at a time, for picking up goodies. They just don't seem to live very long.

Maybe they're dying of boredom? Why not put a few on researching and fixing the huts? At least it would be a change of occupation.

Iv been having 6 villagers die at one time, all were elderly, all had multible masters, but the population is 80. Is it old age or just too many people?
