I have 2 Villagers that are committed to each other. I tried to place the man ( Sam) with other girls, but they were not successful. I also tried to place the girl (Susie) with other men and they weren't successful either. The girl keeps waiting for someone and finds Sam. I have Sam's skills on research and hers on different things, but she keeps going to him and they are constantly going indoors. I hope he will be okay when she dies, she's an older woman.

maybe because the other people you tried have no parenting skills?

Just like in real life we/they all have their preferences LOL and some bonding does occur

Robert1220, some of them did have parenting skills and I tried several times, but they kept running away. LOL
